  2. I'm sure allowances can be made, you look old enough:)
  3. [ame] [/ame] It was one of RB Trees jobs, Wiley_P was brought in to do the felling. Some better clips at the end of this one [ame] [/ame]
  4. [ame] [/ame] Why we should not take our procedures for granted!
  5. If that was footlocking then i have the tact and inteligance of Dean!
  6. pmsl i remember that, you squeeled like little miss muffet in a bath of spiders. you shot it afterall, thought you would have liked a trophy
  7. Has anyone had experience of making a successful claim against an individual or company (employer) ? If so could they explain the grounds for there action (pm if you do not want to disclose it on the public forum)
  8. On the third pic, were you not worried about getting your hand trapped. It appears to be inline with the falling timber. Nice work by the way
  9. I can't believe you don't have a black AND a gold one Peter. Shame on you
  10. Must not have been big enough as i can't remember:wave:
  11. plunge cuts are very limiting, if the wood is brittle or there are cavities you can find yourself in a very dangerous and difficult position as the hinge is set poorley with no chance of compensating for the problem
  12. So even if the "employer" had no input to the accident, they could stilll be financially liable for lost earnings and compensation?
  13. I would seek expert advice personally. These situations, from the little i know of them are complex to say the least. As was stated earlier, as far as the H&S are concerned he was an employee at the time therefore putting the duty of care upon you.
  14. I had forgotten about him. I may have upset him a few years ago when I said I gave all my timber away free and he could not have any:)
  15. you forgot the and the
  16. haha or just buy him the cheap wine- saving the best for yourself of course. Enjoy Nick
  17. I wonder if it is due to the small diameter of the cord. The bending radius would be more severe, thus placing a greater twisting force on the cordage. Or maybe not
  18. what set-up you using?
  19. Sounds like we need some nice bright arb-talk stickers in the shape of a target to put on top those black lids!!! (hint hint steve ) stickers suitable for helmets of course
  20. The insurance company will at least ask you to provide details of your training and proof of your competance. I'd hate to imagine the complexity of this if you don't have a nationally recognise ticket. Your position to me is selfish, you are not fit to trade imo and your obviously not informing your customers of this
  21. Fun indeed, especially viewing the pics of you being tied to it after too many of us had been shocked
  22. I'll have a quiet word with David Ike, he will be so relieved that your not reptiles
  23. The answered prayer to the god of small mercies i.e. It starts raining when your in the truck on the way home you blunt your saw on the last cut of the job you discover your glass was not half empty but half full the smell of eucalipts after a 200 yard drag, then putting them through the chipper
  24. I guess we will jus have to agree to disagree. I'm not prepared to argue over lesser evils:icon14:
  25. I have on a couple occasions passed self spliced ropes with disclaimers. A splicing course is on my list this year as it's yet another huge hole in my knowledge. Made even more noticable after chating to Nod this weekend
