  1. So this morning when I dropped the kids at school there was a community speed watch set up on the main drag through the village....and about 30 meters away from some temporary traffic lights. I say temporary but they have been there around 3 weeks at the entrance to a new development going up. There was 5 of them sitting there, and im not quite sure they understood why I was laughing at them
  2. i did my old ldv with hammerite, applied with a sponge roller. Came out pretty good
  3. This happened to me once. Quoted a 100ft deadwood removal. I quoted it cheap too, £400 to get it on the deck..mostly as a favour as they had let me use their tractor on occasion. I considered it safe to climb at the point of the quote. They came back to me 4 years later asking to go ahead with it...I ignored the message. There was no crane or cherry picker access whatsoever. Its probably still standing for all i know
  4. gooutdoors has several on their website, been toying with the idea of buying one for a couple years. Dont go with Lidl.....for anything
  5. I have the new shape Navara and love it. Big improvement on the older ones in every way. MPG is great also. As far as hard tops, im not a fan as I think they spoil the look of the trucks but I was forced into getting one last year. For overall security and something commercial that doesn't make it look too much like a farmers pick up i'd look no further than the RSI http://www.upcountry4x4.co.uk/nissan_navara-np300/hardtop_rsi-steel-smart-canopy.asp
  6. Hi Mike, Have you looked into the training you can get through the army? Theres a few sponsors on Arbtalk who offer this. Welcome to the forum
  7. Trying to talk him into a trebuchet
  8. Course not, that’s just for product placement. I used a silky
  9. And they didn’t build the gateway a few feet to the left because?
  10. Made a cannon stand around 12 years ago for my old landlord. He just sourced a second cannon and wanted a second base made up so he has a matching pair. Just needs sending to the blacksmiths for the wheels to be made now. I’m generally pretty crap at diy and woodwork but this only required a rough and rustic job, I was quite pleased with it
  11. yeah, ive mostly trained it out of them though. Still hear it everywhere else. Always funny when you hear some jumped up little university know it all making out how intelligent they are yet cant even use the english language properly
  12. One of the worse things for knackering a chain
  13. This is true Stefan, just because your partner might seem ok with you working all house it doesn't necessarily mean thats the case. I know this first hand through all the hours I spent getting Arbtalk off the ground in the beginning....although that was a blessing in my case ?
  14. FIrstly, why should Stefan tell people what he earns? I certainly wouldn't Secondly, it was me who changed the thread title, at Stefans request, due to the exaggerated uproar it seems to have provoked. I don't think Stefan meant it the way everyone took it(and apparently took offence to). You guys have to understand that foreign language speakers don't always necessarily mean things as they are directly translated. To Stefan, if you're happy with your success then good for you. Personally i'd rather not work as much as you do ever, but thats your choice
  15. Think it might be dead Thanks for the update
  16. This seems a nice one ? https://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/steyr-challenge-bench-rest-electronic
  17. Agreed. This part also annoys me....'protection from discrimination' Remember in the old days if you were crap and didn't fit in you had to up your game till you did
  18. Been wanting to buy a gun for years but had neither the time or a suitable place to shoot. Well I could find somewhere to shoot but then the time issue comes into play. I just want to be able to walk out of my door and into a field and shoot. Thankfully I am hopefully moving in a couple months time to a place that ticks all those boxes so I will be in the market, for either a weihrauch or thoeben probably, will have to start my research from scratch again
  19. I struggle with them pretty badly myself so I know what you mean
  20. shame, because they are amazing trees to climb, absolute monsters some of them
  21. Do you have the backpack battery?
  22. homeowners section for q&a, best answers can be voted up
