  1. Sorry Stevie, but that is just utter tosh. There is absolutely no way in hell using 2 lines in a tree doesn't slow a climber down and create issues. I reckon in 22 years I probably used 2 lines in a tree on maybe half a dozen occassions. And whilst it was useful and necessary, it was also a pain in the backside. Whoever came up with this legislation clearly has no idea about climbing trees on a commercial basis.
  2. Am example of why a pic is handy. Turned up to this tree today to find it surrounded by blackthorn and rose, more than I was prepared to get into with a silky saw. Fortunately the firm I was doing the picus for were only round the corner and sent a man with hedge cutters over to help
  3. Fairly dessicated so not 100% sure. found on Ash

  5. It is! I used it briefly earlier in the year. Not that I’m any sort of expert on lawnmowers but it certainly looked and felt the part
  6. They have their place. The important thing is not to expect more of them than they are designed for.
  7. STIHL will be showcasing an array of new products at this year’s Saltex exhibition, the UK’s largest event for the grounds care sector, offering professional users more options than ever before to tackle the toughest jobs. Taking centre stage will be a preview of STIHL’s new RMA 765 V PRO mower, which will be the latest addition to STIHL’s expanding range of high-performance professional models. Packed with innovative features, the new cordless mower is designed with a 63cm magnesium twin blade cutting deck, height adjustable front wheels for zero turn, and variable speed, controlled via the digital cockpit. In addition, the solid mono handlebar ensures users can empty the tough fabric 80-litre grass catcher box with ease. Visitors to the stand will be able to see up close the new MSA 220 C-B, the most powerful cordless chainsaw in the STIHL range. Powered by a 36 V Lithium-Ion battery, the new saw comes as standard with the STIHL exclusive 3/8” Picco Super 3 (PS3) full chisel saw chain with a guide bar length of 35cm/14”. The powerful MSA 220 C-B makes quick work of any task and guarantees consistently high-quality cutting performance for felling, snedding, firewood processing and much more, regardless of the battery charge level. Producing an impressive blowing force of 41N, the 80cc STIHL 4-MIX® engine runs on a fuel-oil mix just like a 2-stroke model and offers the benefits without the compromises of 4-stroke power. The STIHL 4-MIX® engine provides fast acceleration, more power, added torque, and lower noise during operation to complete jobs quickly and more easily. In addition, the engine offers reduced emissions and increased fuel efficiency. To make getting up and running even easier, the BR 800 C-E is designed with a convenient starting system featured on the side of the machine, allowing users to re-start the blower while wearing it. The simplified starting system also features an automatic choke reset and a switch position on the control handle that is always ‘ON’, ensuring that the professional user can start the BR 800 C-E with ease. 8. I changed a 341 from 3/8 to .325 as I didn’t think it should have been using that gauge in the first place. I think you would be disappointed with a 261 running it
  9. Should be the amount I’ve spent on flipping screws, brackets etc
  10. Well, it’s been a challenging 5 days for me as I’m not particularly diy minded. Managed to hide most of my mistakes would a good lick of paint. Most of the cutting done with stihl ms160. Did go and buy a panel saw but discovered quite quickly that I’m apparently unable to cut straight lines by hand!
  11. Is it leaning away from the house and a nice easy fell by any chance? ?
  12. That would suggest he basically knows nothing. Can't see anything at all wrong with that tree from the photos
  13. Yep like a mustang? joking, kinda. It will likely still be a pickup for the tax and vat benefits
  14. Not the other end of the scale at all, in fact I’m looking for something different myself. Not because I’m unhappy with them. Just that after 10 years I fancy a change
  15. Put your past experiences behind you and go test drive a Nissan
  16. Doesn't look like its dying, although thats not a great photo. Just looks like theres some deadwood in the crown which is normal for a mature tree. Unless theres something else not shown in the photo that your guy mentioned?
  17. Haha you’ll never get big j in a Nissan
  18. Who would need to haggle! That’s a great price! If you stick it in arbtrader with a photo I’ll share it
  19. No house alarm, perhaps I should go down that route though
