  1. Oh come on, who wouldn’t be out of their depth?
  2. Not as yet but I have no renewals due. Generally speaking in times of financial difficulty those who can afford to, increase their advertising, for example I did ok in the last financial crisis. This is somewhat different though so who knows what will happen this time. It’s not looking promising though
  3. You’re going to make a Coronial
  4. Absolutely. And in the grander scheme of things its only adding £16 a month onto my monthly payment....but its still not exactly what I would have considered a mortgage holiday
  5. Struggling to get my head around this. I phoned the bank yesterday to take advantage of this 3 month holiday that the government has made possible, believing that it would just add 3 months on to the end of the mortgage, or the monthly payments would be adjusted to make up for the break. The payments were indeed adjusted, but also the 3 missed payments they say will be added onto the mortgage, ie my overall debt will raise by the equivelant of 3 months payments. I am quite struggling to get my head around how that is a mortgage holiday, unless I am totally missing the point i would actually end up paying them for the privelege.
  6. I've cancelled everything I can. Missus's car insurance cancelled, shes on maternity leave so wont be using it anyway.
  7. Hi Martin, you need to add your site here https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling
  8. We are quite rural here and now that the kids have been let out of school the only place I plan to go is food shopping so hopefully risk or getting it is minimal. Plan to do most of my shopping at the little village store. More worried about the financial impact than anything else
  9. Todays flights. At least Russia are taking things seriously
  10. If this is still going on in 9 months time we'll have more to worry about than nappy shortages
  11. These mortgage repayment breaks are a very welcome gesture. Trying to get through to the banks on the phone is another story though
  12. Unfortunately, the Arboricultural Association has had to take the decision to cancel this years’ ARB Show which was due to take place on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May. We know how disappointing this news will be for many involved, from our exhibitors who have been busy preparing for the event, to the thousands of visitors who look forward to it each year. We have taken the decision to cancel with the world in an unprecedented situation grappling with a global pandemic of COVID-19, and public health must remain everyone’s priority. We are extremely grateful to our exhibitors, as well as our principle sponsor STIHL and all who have supported the event. All exhibitors will be offered a full refund. We do not have any plans at this time to reschedule this show this year. If you have any questions, please contact: Sophie Chappell (Events Coordinator) 01242 522152 (Extension 209) [email protected]
  13. I think it will be more for larger companies with certain amount of employees, who knows
  14. Sorry to hear that!
  15. Local tesco store is getting worse and worse by the day. Quite depressing walking round there today. I have mostly got enough supplies but am going for fresh stuff, of which there is no shortage of currently.
  16. Arboricultural companies, large and small, are discovering the benefits of switching their fuel over to Aspen Alkylate Petrol. The UK’s largest tree contractors, Gristwood and Toms, together with Merseyside-based grounds and landscapers, Kingsman Gardens, have both reaped the rewards of using Aspen fuel – reducing harmful fumes and costly machinery servicing and repairs. Gristwood and Toms started using Aspen 2 in their fleet of chainsaws 18 months ago. “With a team of 220 people and nearly 200 vehicles on our books, it’s important that we’re taking steps where we can, to improve our green credentials” explains Director Dave Gristwood. “Aspen came in to demonstrate the product and how, by removing all of the nasty chemicals, the fuel burns much cleaner than regular unleaded. Our chainsaws run well, now without the fumes which is much better health-wise for the guys using them.” He continues, “In our line of work, it’s also quite common for spillages to occur, and if this happens now with the Aspen product, it’s noticeable that it doesn’t cause damage to plants or the surrounding environment to the same degree as conventional fuel.” For Kevin Prince, Owner of Kingsman Gardens, the difference he has noticed in the longevity of his machinery has been massive since he switched to Aspen 2 two years ago. “My team of five guys undertake a variety of domestic and commercial works from landscaping, garden clearances, tree cutting to pressure washing and cleaning. Because of the scope and variety of work we do, some items on our machinery fleet will sit around unused for a few months – sometimes even longer. Because the Aspen fuel doesn’t deteriorate like regular petrol would do, and keeps the inner workings so much cleaner, it means we’ve had machines that are unused for over a year that still start up first time.” Kevin uses Aspen 2 in all of his 2-stroke equipment, including chainsaws, strimmers and hedgecutters together with a small amount of the Aspen 4 mix in some of his 4-stroke hover mowers. “Being ready prepared, we’ve all but eliminated issues with mixing which is much safer and reduces my maintenance costs when machines weren’t running as they should. Customers have also commented on the reduction in smell and smoke which is especially important when you’re working in small, confined areas.” Being virtually free from sulphur, benzene and solvents, Aspen alkylate petrol burns cleaner than regular petrol making it safer for operators, machinery and the environment.
  17. Seems plausible
  18. casually statistics are seriously flawed, and shouldn't be used as any sort of reference point for imposing stupid rules on professionals.
  19. Did a picus test on another Oak tree last week which had a lot of the same characteristics of this one, such as the weeping form, and similarities in the bark. Any suggestions on this leaf?
  20. Yep as rob said, get yourself listed here https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling
  21. Should be avoided if you’re expecting sharp frosts
  22. Wouldn’t rule out the possibility of eventually buying other battery tools. You should look at the entire range of whatever brand you are leaning towards
  23. I think it’s already in there
