  1. Don't they say that every single year?
  2. Tried a listing in the tip site directory?
  3. Wow, that sounds a bit harsh. Was on site when similar incident happened. We were felling self set Sycamore trees from the central reservation. Nothing overly large, perhaps 10-12" diameter stems. We had been flopping them over the safety barrier all day long, then one of the final trees came down, must have caught the barrier just wrong and knocked it off, as well as peeling it off the posts for 20meters either side. Bill for that came in at £2500 if I remember correctly. Thankfully it wasn't be that was responsible!!
  4. Just to update, been a few months since this was launched and we are starting to get a good bit of traction in google. Hopefully some of these links are generating into leads. However, theres still large parts of the country that have no listings so a lot of these people searching are quite likely not finding a contractor. If you run a sawmilling business it might be worth checking to see if your area has been covered already Sawmill Directory | Find A Sawmill Near You | Sawmillers UK SAWMILLERS.CO.UK Sawmill finder for the UK market. Find a company in your area. A directory of static and mobile sawmill businesses offering professional milling.
  5. A ported saw is quite noticably louder!
  6. Oil tank doesn't appear particularly old, but that would also by my first cause of concern...the trees obviously struggling. Some sort of bund lining would be a good start if its found to be the culprit.
  7. If you''re doing any amount of work with them then you can't beat the felco with the swivelling handle, they are worth the money. I've had several different types in the past though, some of the best being Corona. Corona Secateur 1/2 - Pruning from Gustharts UK WWW.GUSTHARTS.COM Buy Corona by Corona Secateur 1/2 from our Pruning range - @ Gustharts Nice idea with the hook though
  8. Lembas bread ?
  9. Your activation email may have not made it..just approved you manually.
  10. Sorry to hear that Jacqui Please consider adding the serial numbers on Arbsafe
  11. Yep, I really should chase up competition prizes more. People are usually quite forthcoming. As for getting someone truly independent to judge. I don't think we could get more independent than the last time, considering you slagged them off right in the competition thread and still won ?
  12. I've been doing it wrong! I lay in bed awake in pain most nights...i find it quite uncomfortable even to type for any length of time these days, which is really useful for a website developer. I personally want better for my son than that but would of course support him in whatever he chose. If he did decide to go into tree work I would most certainly be encouraging him to invest more of his time and energy into building up the business so he could get off the tools at an earlier age.
  13. How did you do the lettering?
  14. Look at you with your posh new username
  15. Been eyeing up these trimmers myself as it happens. Planning on growing a pair of balls out the front of mine and these will be ideal
  16. It can be: and always used to be on the old site. I just hoped everyone has grown up enough that it wasn’t necessary. Obviously not.
  17. I don’t recall hearing any of the racist words used above
  18. You should really have reported the above
  19. You're not alone Steve, I know a few guys that firewooded some stunning timber in the past because that's what was done. In my early years the company I started with used to sub to a forestry/timber company, taking on any work where climbing was required. Part of the deal was we took firewood off site also. the boss went to offload timber midway through the day on one occasion. Determined to impress I managed to ring up a whole sycamore trunk before he got back. unfortunately it was ripple grain sycamore and was supposed to have been left for the timber merchant ?
  20. Looks awesome. ive always wished I could be more artistic. It’s sickening to think of all the wood I have chipped, logged, or burnt over the years that could have made something real nice
  21. Perhaps you 2 can both take your little argument elsewhere
  22. I’m with you entirely. Absolutely hate litterers, and it seems McDonald diners are amongst the worst offenders, make of that what you will. Up until just a couple of months ago, stowmarket was one of the few towns in the country with no McDonald, unfortunately they decided to build one. Overnight the impact on the amount of litter in the area was noticeable
  23. https://theadminzone.com/
  24. The only one I really use now is the forum specific to the software I’m using, and for that you need to have a software license to view the good stuff. The admin zone is more open, but doesn’t get the traffic it used to
