A pickup isn't a main arb vehicle. It's a good addition to the fleet though.

Good for subbies too. And small jobs.

That's probably the best "not beating around the bush" answer  forgive my waffling haha

I keep trying to convince myself I need a super/king cab tipper, but chip capacity is too limited.

Running one as well as the Transit would tick a lot of boxes, but at a price.

The Transit is the best single vehicle that suits my business model.

Or maybe I've built my business model around the vehicle?

Used to drive a pickup everywhere until my commute to harvesting sites just drank fuel for the sake of carrying tools and I didn't need 4wd. Got rid. Estate car saves me on average £60/week. Just have to walk a couple of hundred metres to the machines in the winter; big deal.

You and your 4wd. I drove my empty lwb Cabstar along here unassisted. Those ruts are so deep the front axle was hitting the ridges quite hard.

I know people that could get a 4x4 stuck along this track.

I do mostly powerline clearance and have to cross fields most days. 4x4 is the answer and because i often have to travel an hour or more each way, i want something that drives well and is comfy. It ticks those boxes. Tows the chipper really well too.
