Not sure if this is the best thread to ask but why do you need to be be able to send a copy of C38 to buy a top handle? I can go and buy any other saw without needing a copy of 30/31, so why do I with a top handle?

And 38 is just climbing, surely it should be 39?

I've got courses booked and was looking at getting one before hand. Looks like I won't be able to

Too many idiots were buying them and cutting themselves using them for one-handed logging.

HSE talked about banning them, so it's an attempt to impose some control.

Now all the idiots just buy them on eBay, which is totally unregulated.

I'm sure if you went into a local dealer with your current tickets and showed them your upcoming course dates they may be fairly sympathetic.

I always use a topper for logging cordwood one handed.

I've got my 38 though so it's allowed.

I meant to put CS39! And you can get one if you send me evidence of the courses you're booked to do.

Echo have asked that evidence be seen when ordering a top handled saw hence the request.

A top handled saw is very different to a ground saw - because of it's being designed for (if needed) one handed use.

With the MS200T and the like it's pretty heavy work using it one handed on the ground - with these much lighter saws it is easy and therefore very very tempting.

Already seen plenty of vids as below for sawing up thin diameter branches into firewood.

Can anyone put a picture up of the rear attachment hook?

I want to know if I can quickly sling it one handed without adding an extra crab, a feature I love on my 540.

I can tell you from experience with mine that you most certainly can. The strop gets in the way a little but didn't bother me with the small carry tool
