A foot ascender is a pretty cheap game-changer in this respect.

Use the big muscles instead.

I prefer the CT to the Pantin because it doesn't kick out.

Too right Mark. I use a spiderjack, and when assessing I use a Pantin and hand ascender. I would say it's as fluent and easy as a good SRT setup, just half the speed !

just got me a dmm hitch climber and ocean polyester.

can i just confirm i used a VT and instead of spliced eyes i have tied two single fishermans for where it fits onto the oval krab - this is ok? how much tail is exceptable and shoudl i tape them?

- just not sure as have never used it and the only advice i can find just says use a prespliced cord.

also anyone know any splicers around Northumberland?

Tie , dress and set your knots . I was told 4 times the diameter of cord you're using. So 10 mm would be 40 mm ( 4cm ) long.

Twice I have always been told.

the fishermans is a very secure knot, i wouldn't be overly worried about taping them but it does make for a neater set up.

I teach x3 diameter tails ?

You're both maniacs! It's 4x!

To be honest, I've never checked. I've had tails under 1cm before and I'm still here. Hitch cord doesn't last long enough to faff about taping tails.
