Phew, not sure I could face doing that course right now😁 I agree with you Bob, but you'd have thought the doing writing chainsaws and chipper would give away what you do. But I know common sense won't be applied by those who are likely to stop me!

Cheers

Mark

I need to do mine or loose my HGV entitlement! I personally think it is disgusting! everyone i know has said its the biggest load of crap they have ever seen! people working for big firms who are getting paid to do it an the course is paid for are laughing. people who are paying for it themselves are struggling! unpaid time off loss of earning through not doing jobs! what a joke :thumbdown:

+1 I have booked In my 2nd day at the last minute for tomorrow. Frustration, anger, and more hours of my healthy life laid to futile waste, I've heard lots of stories from drivers. None with a fond smile" ou it was really good"

I always lived in hope it would be junked.

My next hope is that a huge shortage of drivers plagues the continent for years to come.

I want my £1000+ back cost plus lost of earnings! But why should my employment providers pay?

Most of us have just trollied along with this and done the hours with sweet FA to show for our time , money and trouble other than the ticket. You can elect to do the crane course which counts as 8 hours and the forklift course which again counts as 8 hours. Not a high prize but a ticket of training for the said bit of kit rather than nothing. The adr course (Tanker drivers ) which takes five days also counts for the 35 hours so its probably going to be worth getting these in for the obligatory 8 hours a year we have to do in the future.

Or a GOOD 1st aid course.

B UT def better to do some intrinsically worthwhile extra qualification.

Than discuss;

(i) non-compliant Lidl Fir Extinguishers.

(ii) out of date Fire Extinguishers.

etc

I got my CPC card in the Post Saturday.

I now am qualified to drive a CE vehicle combination professionally.

I am very pleased with this development.
