A toad got a bit of a surprise when we moved a flowerpot with him underneath.

 

He mustered what dignity he could and left the scene.

Nice find. When I was a kid, I helped my Dad do the patio at the back of the house. We made sure we built in loads of hiding places for frogs and toads.

Leaf or frog hopper beatle.

Beast of a beetle at the front of my garage this morning! It was on its back and couldn't get back upright. Suspect it tried creating up garage door and fell over. 

 

Helped him up and bobbed him in the garden. Huge compared to usual beetles 12mm wide and maybe 22mm long approx

Haven't managed to get out with Bat Club this season so here's a Brown Long Eared from a trapping session at Hatfield Forest a couple of years ago.
