You were doing well with this, till you mentioned my name, and working at such a time of day that the sun could be setting:confused1: I never work at such a silly time of day (posted Monday 6/9/10 at 12.35pm and finished:thumbup:) Actually Steve had finished his 7trees by 3.30pm, the sunset was 6.30pm and you were struggiling to get your 3rd tree finished, a bit of haste, didnt look down or shout a warning tut tut

 

Yip Steve may have been shouting 'hurry up I want my tea' .

 

Also nearly added an edit as thats a major flaw in my little tale. Bits of wood can kill someone so I always clock the groundies whereabouts and shout 'below' before dropping anything that might hurt a lot. Needed to be pointed out though Andy .. Cheers.

years ago had a large beech branch slip through a sling after my retarded groundie let it bite on full swing and go through a listed wall,I went mental and 5 minutues later he did the exact same thing again!!!!

 

will never forget dead wooding a large cedar thinking this branch wood disintergrate when it hit the ground but it sprang about 10 ft in the air turned 180 heading butt first and went over a fence and straight through the neighbours shead roof !!

 

Oh and a dead hawthorn a couple of weeks went side ways in to a stock pond of very expensive carp!!! the owner seemed to find it funny though!!

fell a tree on the forwarder the other week, was only oak and cherry first thinnings so it was fineeeee,

I wreaked a hiab (not the one beechwoods now got the other one in the sale), felled a tree onto a transit which drove through the site and barrier tape passed the crew, whilst i had finsihed wedging it (apparently my fault as i should of took a wedge out not be walking away as the tree was going) Fun times they were.....

Crashed a ride on mower through someone's living room window,left jockey wheel down on chipper and drove into a speed hump with it. Brought the main street in the town centre to a standstill for 2 hours while we stihl sawed it off!!

Climbed an ash tree with 16 phone lines running through it. All the fascia boards on the houses were rotten and as i started rattling about in the tree all the fascias sarted pulling down.

Smashed a one off stone bench when a pessie bit of wood slipped out my hand.

Broke a few fence pannels...................anyone wanna give me a job:biggrin:

Not long after I fist started out I was working with the bosses original climber on some treesa round a cemetary. We were removing limbs overhanging an old victorian (original) wrought iron fence. I asked the groundy (ex climber) several times if one particualr limb needed roping and he was adamant that the branch would miss the fence. Yeah Right. Cold day, wrought iron fence vs large limb equals 1500 quid bill and a very unhappy boss. That's probaly the worst, apart from busting my leg when a limb I was rigging got caught by the wind and came back butt first into my leg. Four weeks on crutches and a bruise from waist to little toe.
