My complaint to batterie top handles is a weight Bricks they are, ground saws is for kids only cutting strawberries, didn’t test latest Stihl , but it’s weight like my 572 will it cut like it? And lads having a troubles during rains still in particular with Makita, Milwaukee stuff  it’s rain every second day there, so I don’t know !!!! Cost is prohibitive for good kit.Maybe for hedge laying it’s ok . All batterie hedge cutters and trimmers is useless in heavy maintenance and clearance. It will come no doubt, but it’s not there yet.Love my 2511 and 572 combo last 2 months all jobs done with those 2.

The Husqvarna 540i or the Stihl MSA220 will be good. The Husqvarna runs .325 1.1mm chain and cuts great. Did some laying last year with one and it was brilliant. The Stihl, I have only used for small logs up to around 12". This was 3/8 PS 1.3mm. It has now been changed to a 3/8 1.1mm full chisel. This should cut for fun.

Cramer 40v  one looks like   bargin

All for £150 1.5kw

I reckon in general cordless are useful versus petrol 30cc and below - a small  toppers & small ground saw niche.

Also hedge trimmers are good as battrries last ages

Over than not so good as they eats batteries to fast & plus are too heavy but lack power on larger diameter so  I don't see the apeal.

MSA300 n0t impressed a  big heavy lump about 8kg with batteries?

MSA220 I wouldn't mind one after having had a play/look at  one.

Just spotted today on FB, apparently very old German company...

Well, yes and no. The Kress name is very old, however the original company folded several years ago, although like what Bosch did with the Atco Qualcast and Webb names held on to them and then sold the names on to other companies to use. The Kress name is similar, in so much as the new parent company purchased the name in 2016 to 'bring it back to life' as it were- although it is kress in name only
