Need to be careful what's said you lot as open thread,

But it maybe he when on how good Sam is and wife got the wrong end of the stick.

Are you volunteering to seduce the Boss?

That's certainly very kind of you,not to mention quite pioneering in terms of breaking down stereotypes.

Remember you PPE Paul!

I was referring to the Bosses wife maybe looking at this and having a good laugh or worst think what goes on at work adding up what has been said on here.

Hi Samantha,
As others have said, think you dodged a bullet there darling.
Yes what he said is completely discriminatory and illegal.
However you’ve handled it in a very reasonable and professional manner.
Keep going. You’ll find some decent types.

Also.
I’d like to offer you a free 3 day course.
Day one maintenance
Day two cross cutting
Day three milling.

You’ll need your own ppe ,transport and accommodation.
I will supply all other equipment.

That's a great gesture Mr Hewn, it's quite an opportunity you've offered there (hope you checked with any wife, partner or significant other first though!).

Thats disappointing. Its done now though. Speculating on if the bloke has history or what the man's wife looks isn't really fair IMO.

Great offer from Rough Hewn as well 👍 Good man

In the spirit of diversity, I think Paul's generous offer deserves a mention too.

Whilst I agree with Paul about being tactful about what's said, if his wife does read this then maybe in the future she will check herself before banning her husband from employing a woman. Getting into a male led profession is hard enough for women without having their own sex against them too. My gf would be glad that I employed a woman if she's good at the job, equality and all that...

some good advice here .but this can be the major downside to any informal job offer .

The island in general can be a very competitive place to get jobs from what I’ve heard .

Best bet is word of mouth as likely wont get anywhere with jobs advertised.i’ve even offered  years ago to do a few days free of charge before to get foot in the door
