Just wondering what everyone is using for bulk diesel tank 1000ltr plus....

Currently using an ibc but was considering getting a proper tank with a 12v pump and a nozzle so I could stop using so many 25ltr drums and throwing them onto the tractor bonnet to fill it up etc bastard when its windy and filling it up!

Cheers

I thought a double bunded tank was a legal requirement since last year, I know we had a letter from the suppliers we use. I would go for at least a 1200 litre so you can get a discount on ordering 1000+ without worrying about draining it completely.

I pondered this for a while, then bit the bullet and bought one of these

Capacity 1300 Lt, Length 1800mm/71”, Width 1300mm/51”, Height 1900mm/75”, Footprint...

it was considerably cheaper than that though, paid about £1200 inc vat. I picked it up myself. I must say it is very good quality and will last for years.

I was of the understanding if it was mobile there was no need for a bunded tank.

We use an IBC and raise it on a crate of logs so no need for a pump

I thought bunded was a requirement, the drivers would refuse to fill anything else etc. So I bought 2300l one for red and 1300l one for white, £600 and £700. Driver came out, said nah mate, we'll fill whatever you want!

I feel better having it in bunded metal tanks rather than plastic IBC's however. I was having nightmares about sticking the forks through the IBC, and the tanks weren't exactly expensive second hand.
