Not a fan of ladders, much easier to install a line and get on up…. but usually carry one for odd jobs, but realistically if you are working off a ladder your "risk" has exponentially gone way up, a ladder is a very useful tool but has its limitations…… rather use my lines anyway!

When I posted using ladders it was highly frowned on. I've done a few lately using the silky or the ms 150 and a tripod ladder n gotta way with it. Got a few bigger Connies to do in the coming weeks where I'll probably use ladder to get up and then climb higher using the ropes.the cons are roughly 50 footers dropping into a big garden.

Where I can I always use ladders to access the tree, like many why waste energy body thrusting ect for the first 25ft when you can climb a ladder...we have a new team leader at my place, who has called me and the other climber lazy for using them to access a tree....

He loves his throw line far far too much, funny bit is, he will spend 15 minutes trying to get a throw line in...as soon as he has got your rope in, I get the groundie to put a ladder up anyways and it really annoys him! Make me giggle...he doesn't climb by the way..
