They already use "robots" to kill bad people in the US. Basically a remote controlled, armoured mini skid steer with cameras and sensors etc. I read a thing about an armed guy holed up in a building someplace and they sent in the "robot" with a hand grenade on a stick and just trundled up to him and detonated.

 

Future soldiers are today's ace video gamers, can work from home too.
