Ranger Adblue Issues?

Tax deductible, but still got to be paid for. I’d have thought they’d lose too much money over a 5 yr period? Actually this I wouldn’t mind if u could be guaranteed 5 years hassle free motoring. I’d be pissed of having spent £25k on a new truck only to have issues with the dealer passing the buck. I bought a Discovery for £1500 a few weeks ago as a bit of a laugh/back up vehicle. So far no probs and can’t foresee any but worse case it’s never really going cost me any serious money/grief.

Yeah, I was being a bit facetious, if your LRs work for you that’s great, I can see how in the muddy environment of groundworks something you can clean inside with a jet wash would be preferable.

 

My 4wd is my quote vehicle and general runaround so I want it to be reasonably tidy looking and comfortable.

I’ve run brand new Navaras for the last 14 years (alongside a load of other second hand trucks/vans etc), have put 20-30k miles a year on them and generally swapped them in for new when the warranty runs out (with the exception of the second one, which I ran for nearly 6 years). I’m currently on my 4th. I’ve bought/paid for them all (not finance/pcp etc). 

To date they have cost me £2000 a year in depreciation (that figure made me hold on to the second one a bit longer, as I couldn’t get a decent price for it at 3 years old). Obviously I’ve paid for fuel/tax/servicing on top, but that’s the same with vehicles of any age. 

I don’t think that’s crazy money for the piece of mind and reliability you get from running a new truck personally.

The daughters boyfriends 4 year old Vivaro van with the 1.6 diesel, has been throwing a fault code, he changed the faulty sensor(the differential pressure sensor for the DPF) for a new one, then took it to the local electronic guru for an electronic talking too and then drove it at the proscribed speeds/revs/duration.

And

Still getting the same fault code.

On a brand new sensor.

Well as wor Vicky so eloquently said, Yes, but no, but yes but no, but YES!.

So the fault code reader computer thinngy, still says it is STILL the sensor that has already  been replaced.

On scouring various fora? it appears the best solution is to remove the DPF, but surely the van cannot get through MOT Emissions with particulates present?

Does it still drive ok ? If so just ignore it , its just light on the dash ......
