I'm not sure if he thought I was joking, or if he thinks I would cause insubordination in the ranks.

How people finding work at present.

I noticed a drop in quoting the last few weeks but I have put it down to all the news on the cost of living.

Got work booked in but just seems a bit quiet for this time of year.

Enquiries have definitely slowed down but still booking for early May. Stumpgrinding has certainly gone quiet - got nothing in the pipeline as I’ve been undercut on the last two I quoted. Less stressful not being chased all the time is the upside 👍

Enquiries have dropped right off but as I was already stretched to breaking I'm actually relieved.

I was planning on working a two-three day week until September in order to work on our future home.

Thats an impressive room

Interesting lintel design

The door lintel has 1635 engraved on it.

We think that date is correct but the stones and beams are from a tower house or manor.

The neighbour has a garderobe longdrop but walled off inside.

I'm about to put those slate fixing skills to the test as I've 80m+ of roof waiting for my attention.

Buckle up because it's going to get worse. Less people calling and when I do quote my success rate has dropped off. It's obvious why and that's because living costs have rocketed. Difficult choices are being made and I don't suppose tree work is a priority at the moment. I worry for the ones with teams of lads to find work for and big finance bills to pay.
