to be fair its not always homeowners who make the bad call.

i know of a hedge where the local authority tree officer was overruled by appeal and hedge owner was required to cut a chunk out of a hedge that a neighbour said was too high.

so now the hedge runs along the garden at about 20 foot, drops to 12 foot for a section in the middle, then back up to 20.

totally ruined the hedge just cos of once nutjob neighbour.
