My nephew, (big enough, and old enough to make his own decisions) told me a few weeks ago he is going to get one of these "sleeves". My reply was, "you'll look a right c**t". He told me I was a proper old Dick!

I think he let you off lightly there mate .  Been trying to steer  my lad away from having one ( 19 and a bigun )  I said what about the shirts you by and coats and stuff and then decide a week later you don't like them ?  He is determined though .......

probably. I personally don't like tattoos, not that they would make me feel differently about someone. I just don't "get it".

I don't have a no smoking rule per se. I just say not on site, not near or in the vehicle or whilst working. Have one whenever you like but walk out of sight and have it and down tools.

I once subbed a tree surgeon and he was strolling along with a chainsaw in one hand and a lit cigarette in the other...

I gave him what for... which he replied it's 2 stroke blah blah blah it wont combust....

I gave him a lot more what for along the lines of I'm not debating the logic of my rules or the logic of walking with fire in one hand and petrol in the other, it just isn't happening. So then the question was asked what about in the tree? And I nearly blew my top.

You guys that allow smoking in trees are insane IMO. The thought of a man going up in flames cos he's spilt a bit of petrol on his trousers prior to lighting up and then slowly burning to death harnessed to a tree doesn't bare thinking about.

I’ve smoked and worked with smokers and around saws most my life and I’ve never seen any one explode!
I regret the shit tattoo I had done at 18 though , think I’m gonna cover it up maybe with a full sleeve with this modern ink , it does look mint these days what they can do with a needle and the crispness in detail achieved.

I've smoked in trees for thirty years, totally oblivious to that risk.

Better amend the RAMS :$
