New Forum feedback

Personally I preferred the old tabled format of the forum page, it was so much easier and clearer to navigate. The few members I know that used to log in now dont bother as a direct result of the changes.

This is my first post on the new site. Got to say, I preferred the old style site. Seemed a lot simpler to use. This seems a bit more cluttered and complicated to navigate. Maybe it's me not taking enough time to work things out?

 

However, I know it cost a few thousand, and I know Steve must have done it for the better. So,I'll persevere.

Oh yes, thanks for pointing that black dot out. I'd not noticed that and it seems quite useful.

also at the bottom of the page next to another "view unread posts" is "mark site read"  which means you only see new stuff next time you log in

I think the point being made is the site is harder to navigate now. I've got used to it, but parts of it are pants.

 

the search function is rubbish..... There was a thread about Tar Bricks, if you use the search function and type in Tar Bricks it comes back with no results.

I just got 671 results from searching for Tar bricks. (Your post above came back first and the thread came back second. I suspect you were searching for it whilst you were in a specific forum? Try using the search facility whilst in the home section, it will then search the whole site.

So it does, thank you. It does go to prove that the new site is harder to navigate though.

Actually all it proves is that after being used to a different site for 10 years you simply haven't adjusted to the new site yet

I'm whinging because I don't like change Steve.

 

I think I've got the suss of the new site now. 

 

For those of us who ain't tech savvy it takes some getting used to.

I realise that it's out of your hands but I only used the app on my phone for a bit.  When it stopped working it seemed like a chew on to go through browser and login to something unfamiliar.  The convenience of an app is handy.

 

I prefered the layout of the old site, but I prefer the functionality of the new one.

 

I'm sure it'll continue to be a success.
