  5. I think it's more than a little naive to think that propaganda doesn't exist in conflict,ww1,ww2,Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, bush/blair, wmd, name any conflict that hasn't used propaganda to gain some kind of advantage, with the evidence aside in this case, it can be fabricated with cgi, actors, coercion, etc. the video was primarily to expose one particular picture that was one example of that, the media could have investigated it's authenticity but when did they ever let truth spoil a good headline scoop.
  6. Indeed yes. There are one or two folk with reputations lower than a snake's bottom, who have been known to ask for payment in advance, only for a catastrophe involving poorly relatives, poorly vans, and/or other terrible events to prevent them doing what they agreed to. I did a wedding where the singing waiters had stiffed the organisers ( groom's parents ) for a considerable sum and vanished, also the caterer ran off with as much cash as he could liquidate a week before the event, and was last seen heading for pastures new. Trust works both ways. Quite possibly. Understandable. It can take a while to build up trust, but a minute to lose it.
  7. One bump for the week.
  8. Really great to see the arb community rallying behind Andy’s Man Club. Mental health often gets overlooked in physical trades, even though the pressure can be intense. Raising awareness and funds through something so community-driven makes a real difference. I hope more events like this pop up—it’s a reminder we’re stronger when we talk and support each other openly.
  9. Would it still attract the same attention if it was labelled as a veteran/vintage example not for commercial use?
  10. I did write a police report but then I thought I needed a strong positive mind and if it did grow back not have any negativity surrounding the tree. No you are right though. If you saw my previous post when it happened I was not that calm about it 👍👍 to say the least. Alls good. I sit next it and have a beer or 2.😁
  11. There was a lad on here Lake District with transport a few weeks ago, he never said if he was happy being rescue climber though:

  14. I dunno, I can’t be certain of the numbers, but a mate back in the UK tells me the money he gets for the waste wood can pay for the days diesel. Mind you he does have a tractor, wood trailer and grab to transport it.
  15. I need someone with Nptc certs for brushcutter and/or strimmer plus 1st aid. Own brushcutter would be handy but not essential. Few days end of August between Grange-over-Sands and Ulverston. There might be more chainsaw work afterwards. Get in touch about further details. Cheers Peter

  21. So I have put a few hours on the Grillo. It cuts great. It doesn't clog and stall like the Bolens did (which I was really asking too much of it to become a rough cut mower). It just smashes through everything, rocks and stumps included. I like the simplicity of being able to remove and sharpen the blade tips. - It needs choke to start even when warm, so I think some carb cleaning might be helpful. - I'm going to raise the deck a bit. I'm hitting too much even on the highest setting.
