  19. You still dragging this out lad ffs. I’m pretty sure I tried but I recollect β€œyou” telling me what I actually meant. Listen if you want to make assumptions and make 2+2=5 which you and a few others on here are fond of that’s your issue not mine. Weren’t you actually at one point telling me what I’d meant to have said πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ if that’s not arrogance I don’t know what is. Anyway looks like you want to keep having a go at that steep hill so crack on.

  24. Thanks for all the replies. It all sounds positive for the Loncin. Thanks Mark for your extra insight on that model - did you fabricate the single handle yourself or is there a retrofit kit available?

  26. Firstly, that is a hell of a bowl. Well done to Mrs Ed. Presumably not her first go on a lathe. As far as the mahogany comment is concerned, genuine mahogany is Swietenia macrophylla, still the most desirable and arguably the only proper mahogany but there are other members of the mahogany family that are similar and passed off as mahogany. But further, other timbers such as African mahogany, Khaya sp. are sold as mahogany when they really are not. Going further timbers such as Sapele and Utile or often sold as mahogany substitutes. As for spalting, you just need to turn your back and Alder will spalt.
  27. Considering Hayter (a premium brand manufacturer) have decided to now fit Loncin engines to their flagship Harrier 56 range, then, yes I agree with others, they are pretty good. We haven't had many issues....we are a dealer for Hayter, so we would know as we have to do warranty. The Hayter engine in the pic is branded as a GTS engine, but it is a Locin engine.
