I managed to get hold of a 564 recently and it's a great saw to use ( an hour or so a day logging up for a week or two ) been told told December same as Mark and I would imagine we have the same rep being in the north west. Although we all know how they like to get stuff out on time

You present us with a false dichotomy. Minimising the impact of AI doesn't mean we have to go back to a hand to mouth existence. I put my hand up; I want to go back 20 years. We had most of the gains to be derived from technology, without many of the risks. Equating AI with other technological advancements in history just doesn't work I'm afraid. It's on a completely different scale in terms of speed and magnitude of change to society and the world around us. I mean, what was the worst that could have happened from planting seeds, instead of foraging? It can't be uninvented, true. But it could be limited, curtailed, controlled or at the very least regulated to some extent. Non of that seems to be happening at present. It's just being foisted on us by a handful of mega rich twts seeking to make even more money from it. At the expense of us and the planet. BTW - I've yet to see anyone on here extolling any of the virtues of AI. How exactly is it beneficial to me? Or anyone else? Why do we need it? I'm quite capable of looking information up on a search engine, writing a job application or speaking to a friend on the phone if I need a chat.

I was under the impression of the exact opposite.

A Christmas treat usually! I'll have to try it with the sandwiches this week, depends if the ground is frozen over at lunchtime tomorrow maybe - I'll let you know what I think. Had to google that, yes brassica - also Wassabi which HR is often a cheap replacement

Check you for decadence. I'm normally too lazy, so just grate it and then mix with some vinegar and a pinch of salt and sugar. Goes nicely in a cheese sandwich I've found. I also put HR in Fire Cider and Sauerkraut sometimes. So the Brassica family. Must be vying with the Apiaceae, (Umbelliferae) family for culinary usefulness.

Good grief, the writer of that article has some serious hang ups! I guess he walks everywhere and uses a typewriter to send letters to his friends! Which to be fair there is nothing wrong with. And also to be fair he does make some valid points. But he lost me when he said AI is racist. And the example he gave was pathetic. I think we can all agree that AI has its risks, just the same as probably every technological advancement from planting seeds to grow your crops to machines replacing skilled workers also has risks and downsides. In fact you could reasonably argue that where it all started going wrong for humanity is when we learnt agriculture ten thousand years ago: life expectancy plummeted, we became stunted due to lack of variety in diet and almost every major catastrophe that has happened since would have been impossible before large scale farming. But put your hand up if you want to go back to a hand to mouth existence where you hope you can feed your family and keep them alive for one more day. Surely we need to learn to harness AI and use it for our ends. After all it canβt be uninvented!

Iβve found the best way to keep costs down is to buy unseasoned wood in bulk and stack it yourself to dry. Also worth checking local tree surgeons, often theyβre happy to drop off loads much cheaper than firewood suppliers.

Frankly, it shows how fragile the notion of "freedom of expression" in the United Kingdom has become. We may not agree with his words, but the idea that we can be arrested just for writing this is quite disturbing.

Hmm, this is a modern beat combo I'm not familiar with.

That's really tempting. I usually shy away from the expensive jackets because I reckon they vary in rain resistance but all have approximately the same silky resistance.

You need to check if its damaged. Its a bit of a complicated setup but IIRC you need to follow the wiring from the motor back to where it goes into the tube. From the tube it curls around the articled part and its the bit after that where the issue is.
-
Thanks Mark, should this work again once dry or will it require a new loom?

Never heard of them, but sub 12 I'd stick to air arms pellets as they're available practically anywhere and were always consistent and cheap. Most pellets are made in just 2-3 factories, H&N were making Bisley and a few others brands when you peeled the barcode label off the back.

The issues I've seen with the battery hedge trimmers is with the wiring loom where it moves from the pole to the head. It runs too close to moving parts and isn't shielded. It could be that if its got wet and shorted out as the other components should stand up to a bit of water.

Probably did! Β£20 labour soon disappears once you take the machine in, tag it up write out the quote and phone the customer, usually several times, never mind repairing the thing. Hopefully it will help someone in the future if they come accross the same issue and this thread.

Weigh them. Have other people shoot groups without telling them anything.

Yes, it certainly thrives, but on the flip side, this is going well where the mint died off (mint also has that reputation). Yes, great fresh, over to the cooking thread - I tend to sort of follow the BBC recipe, horseradish, vinegar, double cream, mustard.. and some garlic just because... It is only me that goes for it so really just make it Christmas time when we have loads of spare cream around (To be fair, it also works with whipping cream and single cream depends what is open)

Question for the specialist air gunners out there . Daystate Red Wolf sub 12ftlbs .22 . 25 yard indoor target . Always used Rangemaster Soverein 15. 89 grain pellets as recommended by Daystate . Made by JSB for Daystate . Just lately I have found them to be inconsistent . On Ebay I found a tin of New old stock Daystate pellets ( with Daystate on the tin ) same 15.89 grain so I bought them . If you examine the two pellets there is no visible difference . Tonight I put 22 pellets ( 11 per mag ) through two targets side by side at 25 yds with the the NOS Daystate branded pellets . Punched the middle out of both targets . Pretty much all went through the same hole . Immediately did the same with the Rangemaster Sovereign pellets and got some " flyers " and shit grouping Nothing in the bull and some in the 9 . 8 and 7 but but up , down left and right . Some of it could be me but I doubt it . Thoughts ?

There's a saying about horse radish. Something like: once you've got it, you've got it forever. That's certainly the case in my experience. Not complaining though, it's great stuff. Amazingly potent when fresh. Nothing better for clearing the sinuses!

Probably cost you Β£20 in labour time writing this thread. π
