  1. Past hour
  2. This bit of course is all wrong - our cash flowing overseas to fund the Belgians and their pensions (and the Chinese but enough of our cash goes that way to buy their cheap tat).
  3. Well Googled, Kram. Can you tell me what SRS systems you have experience with? I've climbed with a wrench/hitch combination for well over a decade. Pear shaped (HMS) carabiners do not orientate the system in the best way, due to their asymmetric design. The Rhino does, as would the DMM AmericanO.
  4. I've done a few helicoils and they have lasted fine. I use cheap taps but I go slow, use lube and lots of reversing to manage the swarf. On that check for metal swarf in the cylinder, cotton buds work well for picking it up.
  5. Today
  6. Par four again, I'm getting the hang of it now. Wordle 1,685 4/6* ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

    Devon style

I have used one or two crooks but mostly I have laid quite a few stems and intertwined branches to stop it moving.
  10. If its for a wildlife charity its about a pound a tree , that was what two forestry companies were charging
  11. Morning, not been outside yet so don’t know. Yesterday was stunning, ditched the big jacket, then the insulated boiler suit. Glorious sunshine and heat on my face. Back up the mountains todays, well the foot,of them, luckily below the snow line but I might get there and it’s a white out πŸ˜‚

  15. Morning all, Dry and cold here. Beech hedge reduction. One cutting, two dragging, with me on chipper. If it goes as fast as I hope maybe a laburnum take down on the way home.
  16. Having a desk day to go back through some enquiries etc. Shake few bushes to see what falls out and a2ay for a couple of days next week so planning that too. Sounds still out.... Be good and return home safe! Mirror, Culls.

  20. Lad is on holiday tomorrow, so last day of the week today. Dry till lunchtime, so best get a wiggle on. Easy conifer removal, should be a breeze.
  21. Morning all. It is the morning, back to the normal commute, really not feeling it. Have a good one folks.

  24. Personally for thread repair in general I see a Helicoil as the proper engineering solution for stripped threads, and some of the top engine builders use them as standard in alloy cases in new engines. But I agree that with a short reach sparkplug with only 4 or 5 threads a Timesert is probably a better solution for most folk that don't have the correct tooling or experience. Without trying to blow my own trumpet over my working life I repaired thousands of damaged threads and I can say that I detested finding Timeserts in casing threads of an engine that I was repairing for every possible reason.
  25. Yeah, aged 14 I got out blind bearings in motorcycles by sticking the case in my mum's oven at full whack until they just fell out... but as you say , sometimes the case needed thumped on a plank πŸ‘
  26. Ford just discovered thousands of old car parts in one of their plants,, they decided rather than scrap them, they would build a whole new car,, It's called the Ford Pubic,,, apparently it's made of old corsairs.
