“After having personally conducted over the last fifty years more than four thousand psychedelic sessions, I have developed great awe and respect for these compounds and their enormous potential, both positive and negative. They are powerful tools and, like any tool, they can be used skillfully, ineptly, or destructively. The result will be critically dependent on the set and setting.” – Stanislav Grof
  6. Yes maybe and guess what he wont be coming on any of out sites again , but most training lads i know are all the same and they teach there candidates to cut as low as possible in relation to what you said, wasted product,, when i was extracting the timber it was saw logs on out side up against bolsters and then i was hand balling short lengths in to middle of trailer, i think i asked this trainer if the EEC had changed the laws on bending down, hence i got a funny look of him,,
  7. Police ram cow TWICE with car! These are the Total F@#£ING morons who pass interviews to detect crime and uphold law. How blanking THICK do you have to be to do this?! 😡
  8. Paul, Your first call should be to your woodland officer. Some variations regarding restock species are allowed in like for like situation i.e. one broadleaved tree species for another. If you have already felled the area then it might get stickier as an enacted licence cannot be changed. Depending on what the WO says, you probably only need to change the management plan wording and don't need a new licence. Potentially, CBW and natural regen can be married on the same site as the former is planted in a very wide grid allowing space for the latter. As for the track, to put it bluntly, you only have permission to build what you have included in your application to the council and nothing else. You can either ask for a variation (I have not done it for a woodland application but for my residential PP it was about £25) or submit a new permitted development notification (£180?) for what you want to do now. You have to send a prior notification to the council about the development you believe falls under the forestry exemption and if the council doesn't tell you otherwise within 28 days then you are good to go. It shouldn't be an onerous job but it really depends on the planning officer.
  9. I'm not sure it comes from China (my guess is they're US made). Does china have exotic wood to throw away?... Here are some more images of glueups I made last year.
  10. I reckon it’s all down to how well you sharpen, depth gauges down , shiny cutter
  11. Thanks for the advice guys. I suppose i'm less of a forester and more of a small woodland creation project sort of person. So I can afford the time to faff about and pamper the trees a little more - but not the money. So if I can help someone do a job and get free tubes in return I'm up for that. The site is windy and south facing so the tubes do provide quite a nice microclimate for a good head start. Also some of the trees I got were pretty big - I bought 400 from coeden fach in swansea (lovely community tree nursery). Expected 2/3 year whips for the price - got two meter trees in some instances!! Still dont know how I got them all in the van! So Canes and spirals wont work for everything I'm doing although I think I will take your advice and use them as much as possible for the bulk of my planting stere. Rabbits are the main problem and the odd vole. I do understand the faff and volume of the tubes having planted my first 1000 trees last winter (wind break and test patch) and having used reclaimed tubes for these. Had to build a pallet structure to house the things etc.. I agree a lot lot more faff and time spent than I thought it would take. I feel a bit more time spent pampering particularly my initial windbreak will pay off in terms of faster growth across the site. Let me know what you think - and especially if youve got some tubes you want shot of! - Jamie

🔥 **Firewood Needed! 🔥** Calling all tree surgeons or anyone with logs to spare! I'm looking for logs that have been recently cut down to be brought to my home for firewood. Size is not an issue — I'm happy to accept large logs or smaller ones. We have excellent access via the farm track, so transporting them here will be easy. There's plenty of space to unload, so no worries about that either. If you have logs available or know someone who does, please get in touch. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated, and it'll keep us warm through the chilly days ahead! Feel free to message me here or call [Your Contact Number] if you have any logs to spare. Thank you in advance!
  13. The French genuinely love McDoes as they call it. Especially the yoof and families.
  14. I think most of the Mc Donalds are for British and American tourists !!!😁
  15. Hi can anyone help identify this problem with my eucalyptus tree, I believe it's a cider gum. The leaves are turning red and starting to drop off, there is still new growth but I would say it is starting to affect more of the tree now. Is there a broad spectrum antifungal that would be suitable? Any help appreciated.
  16. A long time ago I decided I would use a secondhand tracked dumper if the firm did it again.

    because i said so
  18. Id suggest don't automatically think you always need to use tubes as trees can do fine without. Obviously might depend on the location what critters are about etc.
  19. Just wondering if anyone knew where I could look at sourcing a 2nd hand tracked base for a road tow to tracked machine conversion? Most likely like a 2.5t digger base etc. Don't need slew etc just tracked frame and motors tracks etc Cheers
  20. Probably comes from the same country as the furrings so could be some exotic wood from china etc?

  24. Hi all Not posted on here in a long time! I have re built my lawn mower engine due to it being run with no oil and the conrod arm seized to the crank...i have replaced all the relevant parts and rebuilt the engine ensuring that the timing belt was set to top dead centre and replaced to exactly the same position as it came apart. Is there a quick way I can check this is done correctly and could this be the cause of the engine not starting if slightly out? I have cleaned the carb, replaced the air filter and yet she just doesn't want to turn over at all. Are there some lawnmower geeks out there who can point me in the right direction please? I've asked a few before hand and worked through everything they have suggested but still no joy! Any help appreciated cos I've got to that frustrated point😂
