Don’t get an arctic load, the timber will be frozen. Right @Mick Dempsey ?

Yawn, another long-winded load of TDS waffle. Not seen your russian oil and gas buying euro trash come up with anything better without needing Donald to wave the big stick for them. But I'm sure the college debate club will come up with strongly worded letter on the back of a fag packet to make Putin listen.

Did we mention his Trump phone yet? Taken thousands of $100 deposits for a phone made in the US, no phone in sight yet, but the cash is in his accounts.

So, how is he doing this week? The Gaza ceasefire is holding, with only non aggressive missiles and killings from both sides. Still in the first 24 hours of his presidency, the war in Ukraine is still on going. Latest offering is that the Ukraine give up more ground than the Russians currently occupy, walk away from any thoughts of NATO membership and accept that 'The West' will protect them, Russia will stop invading. Might be cynical but that was the deal after Crimea wasn't it. He did sign to get the Epstein papers released... shortly after persuading the FBI to create 'active investigations' into some of those named in them (Clinton and others) - meaning most will not be released. Most of the papers containing allegations about Trump will be heavily redacted (black marker pens!) or used as a part of these investigations. His dementia is getting worse - classic signs are shown almost every day (aggressive, incoherent and so on), as well as falling asleep in the oval office in front of the press. Almost like he was right when he said an 80 year old Biden was too old... an 80 year old Trump is also too old to be effective. His 'people' have stopped treating him like a make-a-wish kid, so perhaps they have learned how to handle him better. Laying into all reporters he doesn't agree with as 'stupid' or commenting on their appearances... forgetting of course that the press are his mouthpiece to the world at large. Still not a rip roaring success, unless you are his bank manager. So what is the alternative? JD Vance has been slipping in the opinion polls as the heir to the throne. Very quiet that one, though he did pop up this week to ask the military if any of them actually like turkey

Get into power, launch a crypto currency, make policies that the government will support crypto currency more and take a commission for each of yours that you sell. Trumps are now worth more than his property empire (reputed to be billions), from nothing at the start of the year. That one? To continue the thought from above, Trumps fortune has rocketed since he was elected for the 2nd time, much of it profiting from his position. The other biggie is his ballroom, first touted that he would pay the 200 million from his own pocket but now it is 300 millions, and 'others' are paying for it - big corporations who will not be doing that out the goodness of their hearts, they will want their payback, Trump will want his name on the ballroom, a $300million bung to get his name in lights for eternity. Big corporations will need to say the payback on capital invested will be returned double or more. But... a sure he is an honourable man (?), all he does is for the good of the US and the greater world.

he used the office of President to promote the coin The venture has faced widespread condemnation from ethics experts for Donald Trump's conflicts of interest related to the project and his presidential duties. During the second Trump administration, Trump has promoted $Trump and taken actions that have raised the value of the meme coin, contributing to a substantial increase in his net worth.[3]

I still don't get it. To seize an engine, it needs to be run up to max revs and put under load for a fair time so the piston can effectively melt on to the cylinder and it would still need old fuel, an air leak, bad carb settings or straight fuel. Let's see the parts and go from there. It is possible that carbon has caused the issue but can't see how kit can go from ending the season in prime condition to losing all compression on running it up much later. Rings can get gummed up and that can cause compression loss but have usually experienced the old oil coating in the bore giving the engine excessive compression after being left for a long period but no bore damage. Done enough MS200Ts left for years thinking they had good compression until the old oil burns off.

Sorry, only just seen this! On the ground so far, working through my tickets, dragging, cutting and rigging, and running the log grabs etc. Crane job was a particular highlight so far!

Yep was near Huntly, but bailed out with all the shit from SSEN pylons and substations which is not needed. They wanted to put pylons on our fields, no asking, just slam dunk there you are. British and Scottish government along with SSEN are screwing up Scotland nicely, England and Wales are doing the same just a few years behind, Sorry to be bitter but we are damaged after the last few years.

Nothing too dramatic, 4 Douglas to strip, top and fell. Gave the junior climber a good run out in the spikes, which he enjoyed.

Hi All, just to quickly resurrect this. Earlier this year I developed carpel tunnel, (poor grip, tingling palms, pain in hands) I eventually worked out it was due to using a Silky to do an under cut then top cut on a branch, The twisting of the wrist caused the issue. Now when doing manual pruning I use Silky gomtaro with the top teeth for undercuts and have had no issues for 6 months. Blade Gomtaro 270-8+10 Nidangiri WWW.SILKY-EUROPE.COM Blade length: 270 mm (till Ø 135 mm) Teeth: large + medium (8+10 teeth per 30 mm) Suited for fresh wood Limited lifetime warranty

Can we see photos of the damage? Most of the time it can be cleaned up and perhaps new rings will save it. My engine auger is a good example of that with a lump of the bore missing, runs well enough. Photos in the compression thread somewhere. The Aspen lot are a bit like vegans, no need to ask, they will immediately tell you 😆 Everything will be blamed on E10. Im now convinced that smaller saws, and any other tools are better on battery, especially blowers, much better than a bg86, but not a replacement for the 020T or the G372 yet.

Just realised you meant truck! What a dullard! It is a 2.8ltr four banger. I am told it was this years m9del and registered before the changes in tax code etc! Used another tank today and got 21.4mpg. Bit leery at times, especially on a wet, diesel soaked roundabout! Wheel spin and opposite lock. Comfortable enough but oddly, has a stepped gear shift and a manual hand brake. Automatic headlights but not wipers and the lane advisor is nasty!

That’s not the worst idea I’ve ever seen.

Today I'm at home using the printer. I had an idea for a climbers scrench for adjusting chains. Works well but going to redesign it a bit. Its strong enough but the handle wants to be bigger. Also printing some durable chain storage boxes. Having them loose is becoming a pain.

Had a small job, couple of skinny ash trees. After quoting I realised the larger, that I'd be anchoring on, had a lot of vertical splits in the bark and sign of white hyphae. No limbs low down but the top has buds all over. Possible dieback? None of them looked great but this was the only one with the splits. Please give your opinions, how safe is this to climb? I would have been happy climbing it to the V but not happy going much higher. I considered the tops a bit too large to control or rope on this stem, and with the phone lines, and a low roof, too much risk. Called in an experienced friend and he had it done in a couple hours. From there I felled it and cleaned up the road. Its empty land at the moment so there was no need to log up or take it away.

I’m not an expert on the legal side but as far as I understand it, once they’re PAYE you need to make sure they’re at least hitting minimum wage for all the hours they’re classed as ‘working’, and travel time can fall under that depending on where they’re starting from. A lot of firms I know pay something for travel if it’s a long run, even if it’s not the full rate, just to keep things fair. Probably worth having a quick chat with an accountant or HR advisor so you’re covered, especially with 2.5hr drives each way.
