  2. Been on the piss all day with our middle kid, he’s back off to Australia, he said something that struck me… I’ll see you at the next funeral. Getting old, I guess! I’d forgotten how big he is, he hugged me and nearly squeezed the life out of me. You

    Husqvarna 40

Yes I would start with clutch springs, with the clutch off, if you open the shoes with your hands the springs are shot, other than that if the drum bearing is badly worn the brake band will pull the drum to one side allowing it to rub on the clutch causing it to stop.
  5. I think gays cry a lot, so he may have a point...
  6. This is a common Evangelical Christian stand point often punted by Pastors with a Grindr account...
  7. With the side plate removed, does the clutch spin freely within the cup, as @Mick Dempsey has said clutch springs. Might be down to how you removed the clutch or just worn out springs.
  8. England here. i have a Husqvarna 40 and I have managed to get the parts, I Need advice on when I apply the chain break it cuts out, is there a reason for this to happen ? I put a new sprocket, I took clutch off to swap sprocket and clutch seemed ok, It won’t let me upload photos grrrr
  9. Sad news for a couple of reasons. Spitfire crash victim named as pilot Mark Long WWW.BBC.CO.UK The aircraft crashed in a field close to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire on Saturday.
  10. HIK LC06 seems to be the cheapest at around £350, not spending more for squirrels. It was more for locating & identifying them hidden in the tops of the trees, rifle scope is more than sufficient after that and I can get closer but 20-50 yards is the average. What with the rain and woodland management, encouraging the birds of prey it's probably been a poor year for the squirrels. Just like to think, creating an absence draws then in from further afield and the cycle repeats helping the reds elsewhere.
  11. Just bought a Pulsar quantum xq50 off a mate how has upgraded, complete game changer when deer stalking on edge of woodland, the big problem is squirrels in most of woodland were we stalk, you can watch them though pulsar but you can't see them without. But they don't see though wood.

    Oak tree advice?

Hi yes I asked that question but they said they said they not as far as they are aware but the soil is quite light under foot which makes me think that they have built soil up on it
  13. At that price point, do you know what kind of distance or definition you would be looking at? Have you compared a 300 quid device to a 1300 one? Like I say, we'd like another one, but if multiple cheaper units would work better for us than a single pricey one, I'd lean that way. It's got things like WiFi connectivity and camera too, which is useful, but not essential. I'll go squirrel spotting the next time we are playing with our device 👍
  14. I don't and cannot because my log store would take up too much of the garden if I attempted it. I chop four solid cubic metres of logs to last me the winter. As long as the store is full by the end of May and I use the first bay loaded in early April first it will all be less than 20% mc when burned.
  15. Had been looking at the £300 ones, more for seeing where the little buggers are hiding in the tops of canopy. Granted I'll probably just wait until it warms up and a calm evening, then just follow the noise of the falling nuts and seeds.
  16. We have one on the mountain rescue team. Amazing bit of kit. Monocular, not scope, obviously. Don't know how cheap it is relatively, but it was about 1400 euro. Don't know how good it would be on squirrel sized targets at any great range, but it can spot sheep and people through fog and light foliage fairly well. Edit to add some numbers: people/sheep sized targets through swirling cloud at 800m easily, I'd never played with this sort of kit before and I was blown away by it. There was the same kind of device with a laser range finder for another 400e, and HD lens for another grand, so I guess ours is relatively cheap. If you find one cheaper, I'd love to hear about it because we'd like one for our other van too.
  17. Did that on my cs31. Very charitable of the guy to pass me, really.
  18. Does anyone have any real world experience of the cheap thermal monoculars on small targets?. I do a lot of squirrel control, obviously this time of year makes it harder to see upto about 80 yards
  19. Low rakers and one handing a saw into the toe of a tree… yep…
  20. Try removing the plug, turn the machine so the plug hole faces downwards and pull the starter handle a few times. Make sure the choke lever is in the stop position as the fuel I expect to come out may ignite. It sounds like you have petrol in the bottom of the engine. Clear it, leave the plug out all night, try starting it again then get back on here if it doesn't start. It may be worth taking the exhaust off to take a look at the piston through the exhaust port....any scoring is bad news.
  21. Which area are you in? If you are in or near Brighton it is very different from most parts of the UK.
  22. Is there some kind of band thread on here or is the only reason I know Hodge plays an SG in a punk outfit that it's in Stubby's guitar thread?
  23. Since I've not spammed the forum with my musical endeavours for a while, enjoy me protesting and proselytising (to a mainly student audience) at a gig last night. War is bad, mmmkay. IMG_3414.MOV
  24. What evidence do they have of DED? we deal with it a lot in Norway and that doesn’t look that bad. Obviously it is hard to determine exactly from a couple of picture. Are there limbs that are dying off, going brown? Have they seen evidence of the beetle? If there are dying limbs they can be pruned out but it is best not to cut into live wood when the temps are over 20c. That is when the beetle is active. So if surrounding trees are affected by DED there is a high chance the beetle work move into the tree in your property.
