  1. Past hour
  2. Bleeding canker (Pseudomonas syringae pv. aesculi) for sure. Pretty much irrecoverable and as Paul says ther will be honey fingus on the way to finish the job off. Looks like a bit of leaf miner on the go too.
  3. Many years ago, I used to do the same. We had a local saw mill, and I worked on a farm. I had access to tractors and forklifts, an storage area and unused shed, and a saw bench on an old trailer, driven by a combine engine. We used to collect ten or fifteen bundles, cut up the good stuff for logs to sell, and burn the rest ourselves. In my humble opinion, you need a chainsaw to make the pieces manageable enough to handle on the saw bench. Chainsaw and saw horse is no good for high throughput.
  4. I dream of walking into a second hand shop and finding a mint copy of 'Growers of Mushroom' my current band plays this kind of stuff, British Invasion blues, Hendrix, Zeppelin etc. still goes down a storm.
  5. I would like to sell on and keep some for personal burning. And how would people process this? Chainsaw and saw horse or a machine os some kind
  6. Usually, but not always (the hopeful side of me), a gradual decline over 5-10yrs with Honey Fungus being the final death knell as vitality declines also (epicormics are showing early signs of Cameraria leaf-miner I'd suggest.)
  7. After contacting Greenmech UK in regard to purchasing and importing a used chipper from them, I was given the number for someone at Greenmech France, and informed that this would be an easier solution due to paperwork. Not so good for me as the same machines where a good bit more expensive and the main dealer was a good six hour drive away. As usual with France, phone calls were made and emails were ignored, no reply was ever received about my enquiry. It would appear that sales people in France can’t even be arsed to follow up on a guaranteed sale. I managed to buy a used Greenmech Arb 150 privately in France and it’s been a solid investment. I quite fancy updating to the new 130 turntable or possibly a 165D if I could ever arrange a demo. Hopefully I could trade in the Arb 150, if not, I may have a a chipper for sale in the near future and you’re only an hour away from me.
  8. Thank you. Not worth the time for me I fear. Maybe I need a pickup or van!
  9. Today
  10. I got some old Savoy Brown Albums . They are " of a time " Love the cover of " Looking In "

  12. and after a few changes and departures transformed into "Leafhound" with mick halls on guitar, formally with the Brunning sunflower blues band, who went on to tour the blues circuit and now lives in California, unless he's moved again, I was regularly in touch with him but not for many years. the family tree includes branches containing fleetwood mac, john mayall, paul kossoff, peter green, savoy brown, free, foghat, cactus, atomic rooster, and many others from the british blues era,bit different to todays music that has a lifespan of about 3 weeks before it's forgotten and replaced with the next short lived manufactured replacement. Leafhound reformed with Peter French still on vocals, and still playing today.

  21. Sorry to hear this Pete 😢
  22. It would need probably three or four trips with an estate car, and every piece would need to be cross cut to go in the car. Many pieces are eight feet long but many are twelve. Plenty of bark but also plenty of timber. And yes mixed species. I cut about 70% hardwoods, but each bundle will vary.
  23. Morning all, Sorry to hear about your FIL Pete. Six weeks is hardly time to adjust to the diagnosis, let alone come to the end. Shaving conifers today that I would leave as they are if they were mine. Customer happy to pay though.
  24. U just an end user or are trying to push it into sales ?
  25. Caz's father died in the night, diagnosed with cancer 6 weeks back. I got a demo to do in Mablethorpe then taking the day off. The Telegraph celebrates 100 years of the crossword. Won, Nun, Dread
  26. Good morning Arbtalkers 😊 Have a great day....
