  1. Boards and sheets are useful. We use boards on wet grass as well occasionally. For the clients that expect you to dismantle a 50 ft tree and levitate out of the garden without touching anything. Which makes me wonder about this post. With the op having not seen the damage, it may be a something of nothing
  2. Having a quick read through the thread I can't work out whether you are employed or subbing now. Are you employed, with any benefits?
  3. What was the advice? Get a new truck?
  4. Arb is a very small percentage of usage for 3.5 trucks
  5. Con

    Royal mail

I've come across plenty of poor managers in my time, and that was their response if you ever raised objection, or offered an alternative way of doing something. It's not really the answer, you're just leaving a shit situation for someone else
  6. True. I'm not going to try and hide it. It's a decent pension. It's changed in recent years. I'm lucky
  7. Sadly, when I joined, late 80's, I would've recommended the job to anyone, not now. As with all public services, there has been a slow erosion of pay and conditions for, I would say the last 15 years. Recent events have just been the straw that has broken the camels back. It's hard for everyone at the minute. But if you are a union member of a large organisation withdrawing your labour can be the only way of getting your voice heard. Believe me, strikes aren't fun, the minute you go on strike you've lost. It's a failure on both sides. No one wants it and the only way to resolve is to talk. And at the moment, that's not happening
  8. I was in the fire service for 31 years. I receive a pension from that. (Having contributed on average 14% of my wage) into it. I have also had my own business. I suppose you are hoping to put me in check mate now?
  9. Nobody, private or public sector 'get those things for nothing'
  10. Are you talking about negative inflation?
  11. And what does everyone else do? Put their prices up accordingly. This is all the nurses and paramedics are trying to do through negotiations via their representative bodies, which have failed due to one side refusing to negotiate
  12. And if that happens on a non strike day who do you blame? Because it is happening
  13. 25k Gareth. I see why you don't want anyone to have a pay rise. You're trying to bring them down to your earnings. Seriously though, that is a government tactic. Race to the bottom, I think they call it. Sponsored by the likes of yourself
  14. This is true, partly, but we all know how that works, 'I'll give you £300 to cut my hedge', 'no' 'How about a grand?' 'Go on then'!
  15. Doesn't really solve the problem though. Infact it is part of the problem, significant numbers are leaving for different employment. A decent pay rise would go some way to solving it. I don't think we should be having a go at the ones staying and fighting for this and ultimately the NHS
  16. Doug, see if Bruce will do a shift on traffic management with you
  17. Hi everyone I've had my insurance with arbrisk for several years now. I've reduced my work. I'm only going out 2 days a week max. I've approached arbrisk to see if they do a reduced premium for part time, max 20 hrs a week. They don't. Does anyone have anything similar, or know if any one offers part time cover? Thanks
  18. Started something mark. I'm back row second right. Forest fans may recognise Ian woan, front row, also Alan reeves (Wimbledon) his brother Dave, not on photo Sheffield Wednesday. My career went down hill from there!
  19. Agree with Mick. Anyone that wants to criticise refs should have a go themselves. And anyone that thinks Kane can't hit a barn door should try taking a penalty at any level of football, never mind a world Cup quarter
  20. Usual over reactions from people that rarely watch football and have never played. Ref missed a couple of fouls on sakka in the first half, but to say it was the worst referee performance ever! Get yourself down to a Liverpool and District Sunday league game this morning, you'll see some crackers
  21. Any one with bikes will know it as a cush drive. Absorbs the shock from changes in speed
  22. Ms180, ms260, ms362, ms661, ms200t and echo 2511. Yes a 180, and it gets used. It's just so light for snedding small stuff. Made up with the little echo. Makes a 200t feel very heavy now, though. Ms261 is a good choice 👍
