  1. Take it you're from wirral. Do you remember Bob Marley playing Deeside Leisure Centre 1980?

    Depression

Sorry to hear this eggs. I thought something might be up going on your recent posts. Have you got someone to talk to? I don't necessarily mean a professional. A mate, someone you trust, that will listen. They won't have the answers, but it will help you to find the answers and work your way through it. You say there's no specific reason for your depression. The worst kind, because hardest to address. Talk to someone if you can mate. You may be surprised at what comes out of it.
  3. Never in the history of calming down, has anyone calmed down by being told to calm down 🙂
  4. Just watch 'The Apprentice'. That's what you are dealing with.
  5. Are you anywhere near Ellesmere Port? Elite Grindings.
  6. Know what you're saying stubby, but shouldn't have to.
  7. Looking at it long term, they will be 60ft trees, with just the main stems screening the flats and the crown of the tree above your line of vision. As suggested, maybe consider replanting some sort of hedge.
  8. It's interesting you say it was OK to start with. The condition of the blade and particularly, that gap, are never going to produce good chip. Also, that bluntness and gap doesn't look like it's happened overnight. Unless something has moved!! Have you checked nuts and bolts? I've only ever hired a big chipper once. When I returned it, I had to wait whilst the shop opened it up and checked the condition of every wear part. A bit of a pain at the time, but on reflection, assuring.
  9. Properties of a good knot. Easy to tie. Easy to untie. Doesn't damage the rope. Serves its purpose. That's what I was taught, anyway
  10. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

  11. Hi. No. Not with arborisk, anyway. When I was looking, one company offered a policy which related to the amount of earnings. If you don't mind handing your books over and other information they are asking for. I stayed with arborisk in the end. Its due again soon, haven't had the renewal quote yet, so I may be looking into it again shortly. I take it you're in a similar situation. Let me know if you find anything and I'll do the same 👍
  12. Just had a look at them. Do you climb/spike in them?
  13. Sea defence near us worked well today! VID-20240409-WA0005.mp4
  14. You've had a staged reduction, even if you didn't realise it. This might be recommended, although the jury is out on whether there is any benefit in most situations. Take the rest down without worrying too much. If you want to exercise extra caution leave 12 months before starting the build. Now, back to the jacuzzi. The most common question asked on here is 'any pics?'
  15. Correct gauged chain for the bar? There can be .3mm difference. Will run when cold, but not when friction heats it up
  16. Hi . Think this has been asked before. It might've actually been me asking it. Can you straight swap stihl hs82 rc and hs82t blades? Thanks
  17. Thanks for the advice. I've just had the moisture meter on it reading aprox 39%. Any idea what live elm, cut at this time of year would read? I think you're right, patience needed.
  18. Surely they are classed as part of the rodent population!
  19. Not great pics, I'm afraid
  20. Thanks squaredy
  21. Hi. I have milled a bit of elm. It's not something I usually do. It was dead standing for about 18 months. I've cut it in 3" slabs. Plan is for a chunky coffee table. How long drying before I can use it? I'm hoping it's not the inch/year rule. 3.5 ft lengths, if that makes any difference. It will be outside, covered with reasonable airflow. Thanks
  22. I decided a long time ago to not have any small tool insurance. I put a bit aside, and spend a bit extra on security. Fortunately, in 30 years I've only lost 4 saws to theft, and I blame myself for the incident
  23. Why do people pay insurance companies and then not claim for the reason they have been paying them?
  24. I don't think you're going to get a straight answer to that one.
  25. Maybe not the helmet causing the rash. If you've got contaminants, sawdust etc in the headband. Need cleaning regularly.
