  1. The saw 880 is tuned to either 12k or 12.5k , and that Governed by the coil. just pull the spark plug and that will tell you if it’s rich, or lean .. if lean I’d sort it’s find out why, but if ok , ie rich /normal then clean it pop it back in and runn it some more then check the colour..edit on your mix.? if your used to running a 360 or smaller, then as others say you got some learning to do. i could go into changing the coil to a 360 unlimited, but that’s porting stuff talk ????
  2. Wasps are chancers, in the spring summer grubs of any sort (protein) is what they want, this time of year sugar is really what they want but as a bumblebee nest contains both it will be hard to know what they are looking for unless you look inside, maybe just a the last knockings from the old or weak colony. just the other day I noticed some German wasps (big beefy wasps) going in a bait hive I left for honey bees where there was some set honey. seems a good yr for the wasps. And wait till autumn, everyone will be cursing ? it’s always worth clearing older nests out in the winter/early spring.
  3. Sounds like it’s still lean or there’s little compression, so it sounds like the carb.. Those cheap carbs can be a bit a bit tedious to set right the best way to find Out if the carb is faulty, is to pull a good one off another saw.. I know we all don’t have another saw thou..? Also adding, if you suspect fuel line or fuel filter you could find a way to just bodge another line in a cup\small bottle with fuel. But it’s unlikely it’s the fuel line going flat straight away. But only if the filter is bad.

Is it the Accelerator pump, but you say both carbs are the same.. i then maybe a pin hole in the fuel line or cracks in impulse line which only show up while it’s running... but it smells of bad air leak syndrome somewhere, I guess you gotta sniff it out.? did you rotate the crank while doing the p&v teast.. and wiggle up and down, you know seals can be fine for awhile and after a bit of run time the fault shows, the can be seen in tuning a saw then when it’s warm it loses a tune soon after or when cold. i hope it work out ?
  5. I wonder how much the guy got charged to do that, ?
  6. I thought it was the same as the other oilers eg 462 661 that have the pin that can be pushed in to make it an uprated oiler. You should note the oil can run out before the tank runs dry.. see the attached pic from the 661 sm
  7. Ohh the dreaded back fire....I think you need to be more specific, if its back firing then I would say the timing is out. the wires are only to stop the spark, Ie earth it. So if you were to remove the spade connector and make sure it’s clean around the male part on the coil (no oil sawdust etc) keep the wire out of the way. If it starts and don’t backfire, you know it’s the wiring. , use the choke to stop It if it starts. if it still backfires it’s coil and or timing
  8. All sent, service manual is for fs 160 180 220, ipl and a cutting attachment pdf, not sure if if the latter is off any use, I just picked it up in case.. I will pass on your thanks ? to the person I got them from ?
  9. I’ve been a busy person for you. i have a ipl and a service manual to send to you. let me see if I can send it??
  10. No Sweat baby, he's a cool dude ? ? ??? I think you'd get turned away from any job looking like this..??
  11. Sometime old is better than new plastic/stuff. I,m a fixer rather than a throw it.. but if you need somthing for a job and it lets you down, then new or old is no good. ?
  12. Ohh, and my disclaimer is,,,,, it could be a frankenstrimmer.??????
  13. To answer your last question why I choose 220. the side cover air filter and a few other bits I could see and compared it to pics of the searches as I said in my last reply Stihl Fs 220 WWW.NJUSKALO.HR Stihl Fs 220 Prodajem trimer Stihl Fs 220. Trimer je uredan,u odličnom
  14. It’s the wrong spring there are two in your pic it should be one bigger one.. l&s engineers have a bit of a general parts diagram. I think you maybe hard pushed to find some parts.. if you google fs 180 or 220 etc.. and click the picture tab it come up with,,, yes you guessed it pics?. Of the search sometimes the wrong pics come up but you have the strimmer maybe you can get different views and compare. i never got any further w8th the other part numbers you gave.. some things are universal to other models. So the other thing would be to maybe measure the piston, it could be easy by taking the exhaust off and sticking a measuring thing in and seeing if it’s 38 or 40mm but I,m not sure if it really helps identify it, if breaking something while talking it apart, it would be an arssake to replace. so just track the parts to fix only what is needed..
  15. Are you asking for a friend, ? Cos he told me it gives somthing to “hold-on-to” ???
  16. Beatals I say darn beatle invasion.. all them grubs will be food or if they hatch there be on to the the next part of the life cycle. so the trees time is limited... but get others opinions first ?
  17. Dinner is needed first ?
  18. My looking for the ipl on bakealteradio was to no avail but just from the flywheel 4119 and pic’s on the web, I recon fs220 and be fore a post this I see you posted other numbers.. not that I’ve looked any more yet ?
  19. So from your pic of the flywheel I think I see 4119 but the broken shoe is hiding the rest, and from the pdf I posted it looks like it could be one of these and west and east were united around 90 so it’s around 87 -90... now you have the possible models. It’s the next step of looking for the manuals bakalite radio web page has older stuff on. I will have a look and see ? if anything is similar
  20. This file may help you, i if you take a cover or something off and find the part number the first 4 digits are the model number maybe 41 xx where xx is 04 or 06 see page 2 on the strimmer stuff 2016-technical-reference-guide_final_interactive.pdf

What is it your looking for, it may help others in the advice they offer you ??
  22. He was trying to repurpose them stubby ? the only way you'd get the bar in the pic to work, is to have a bar that is meant to fit a 211 aka 3005 mount and you redrilled the holes in the correct place on this bar as well as the oil hole. Using it as a template ?? I know some peeps do it with other bars, but what bars for what saw idk. if you get it wrong then your on your own, as it’s a modification that nobody would say is ok to do. Even thou others do similar stuff. ive never done it. But I would have a go if I needed to some day. i hope you work out which way your best way is, allowing For your tools and skills. I would google/YouTube redrilling bar holes first ? let us know how you tackle it and get on, it could help others some day.
  23. Here’s a pic of my little 211, it’s a 14” bar you can see the end of the bar, and oil hole, as well as the little hook in the teeth ?
  24. your saw in the pic is a 211c, the bar is designed for another saw, that’s why the drive link count is wrong. Even thou it fits a 211, it was said before the end is open on a stihl bar designed for the 170 and 211 series saws the quick google I came up with, it’s a florabest electric chainsaw bar and chain combo and on another note the bar is a bit knackered where the chain enters the bar. I can’t be sure why it happens, but I think it was due to using a worn chain sprocket..also you would get better cutting from a chain that had a little more hook on the teeth.. So maybe a bit of reading on sharpening will help you as well. edit , I,m wondering if your chain sprocket bearing is fooked, that maybe another reason for the bar wear at the end ??
  25. Good morning, On the bar, there should be a few numbers and letters stamped into it. (Near the chainsaw fit ment slot) I don’t know where you got the chain and bar from, but it seems to me it’s not ment for the stihl. Even though the bar fits it maybe for a husky and the oil hole may not line up. The husky chains are least/usually a different DL count. And can be different gauge. And like @Stubby said the fitment holes are/can be slightly different place i,m wondering if you got a bit of a mismatch, that’s why we asked for pic's. It can help you get a answer quicker. its better to be sure it will work or know why it don’t seem to work. As a few peeps get some things wrong. Eg .325 bar and 3/8 (and 3/8 is different to 3/8 lopro or pico) chain and also sometimes the sprocket on the saw has been changed. theres a few reasons. We’re only here to try and help ??
