Hi there i'm looking for some advice. im just starting to diversify into this field and get lots of lovely wood from tree work. i wanted to start of with something small, want to make a coffee table out of a metre diameter oak ring. how do would you go about preparing and finishing the wood? its well seasoned! thanks in advance

  6. That's ridiculous, they made the fines unlimited so this sort of thing doesn't happen when builders take the piss

The ability to turn up on time, not sir on your phone, keep my ropes clean, sharpen a chainsaw, carry lengths of wood so it doesn't have to be logged up on site, not some millienial butterfly, break a. Finger and want a week off work, be able to go to the pub after work and actually have some banter instead of sitting on a phone. Sorry that was more of a rant
  8. yes i know deadwood is great for habitat but theres a lot, and a lot in the way near tracks, do i need a felling licence if its dead ? or windblown ?
  9. Good prices!! but can i ask why some firewood merchants bang on about not tree surgeon waste? i do both tree surgery and woodland management and some of my best wood comes from tree surgery, and its free, and i'm getting paid to get rid of it, win win aha

  12. Yea I've got 2 stove company's that recommend me. They don't want anything in return as we're from the same village but I reckon they also get bored of having a mr and mrs whoever ring up and say their stove isn't working , even though they are trying to burn wet pop aha
  13. Don't faff around with a small felling lever, just get a big one. Everyone including the instructor kept borrowing mine and you can actually have a use for it after your course in the workplace, anything you can topple with a small one you can push over by hand in day to day
