  1. its been 2 weeks since we heard anything, I hate it when trouble saws are not reported on once they've been in to the doctors.
  2. i'll have a pound on that the piston has picked up.
  3. A plate will do nothing to overcome the movement, the gap between the slot in the bar and the studs is so big I could drive a bus through without my glasses on.
  4. lots of saws in the Worcester area on the police auction site, Do you recognise any of yours? https://www.bumblebeeauctions.co.uk/XcAPViewInCat.asp?ID=23&CMD=&OwnerID=&VIEW=MAIN&page=1
  5. Sounds fit on the phone? add 4 stone was always the way I was told by my grandad. I once phoned a local insurance agent and her voice was amazing so I just had to go in the shop and see what she looked like. Yep he was right.
  6. If there is excess oil around the clutch area I would see what the housing is like, these saws have a tendency to wear away the casing and break through to the oil pump channel so when its running its pumping a little oil onto the bar and a little oil on into the clutch.
  7. Warming up any spring and re bending will cause a weak spot and give you a false sense that its fixed and will fail when you need it the most.
  8. Ebay it as spares or repair and then once sold buy a brand new one and have a good Christmas and new year on the change.
  9. your saw is 020av you have bought a clutch for a 020t, they are not interchangeable
  10. Are they really faking Ms180? If you are wanting one and have anything about you that you would swap the rings, bearings, and seals for genuine parts making the cost rise to about £90 so you may aswell buy a genuine one for twice that and you know its a quality item with bar and chain and with warrenty.
  11. Will be a build up of shite and lack of lube, spray with oil and put the pullers on to pull it up at least 1/4 inch that your puller will allow and then it should wiggle by hand off.
  12. But that is not what the op put, the difference in his figures is 30 thou.
  13. Still wont make any difference but it is actually 30 thou difference not 3 thou
  14. Its someone you know im afraid.
  15. So youre on Question time and you are asking what questions should be asked, I suggest you give up your ticket and let someone go on who has their own questions and answers to the reply. Typical BBC numpty.
  16. If your stuck on something that has happened before ive always found that if you ring the guy who fixed it they are only too willing to tell you what was wrong with it the first time. Chances are they will over egg the pudding so you take it back to them for repair but at least you can weigh up if you can tackle it yourself.
  17. At a good price? I hope its free. Why would anyone pay for that?
  18. Are they oem or Chinese parts? A pic of the damage and a pic of the flywheel would be a great help
  19. My Hayter 41 gearbox mount has snapped, ive got the new part fitted to the drive but im having a nightmare trying to get the 2 lugs into place to bolt through the height adjuster due to the great amount of tension in the height adjuster spring, is there an easier way to get it into position or is it brute force?
  20. Cant knock florabest kit for the price, you pay for what you get, my sharpener is still going strong after 6 years of abuse, Their Parkside cordless equipment is amazing value considering its made by Bosch.
  21. Why try and beat this fella with a spud ported souped up machine, for kudos? If you did the machine yourself instead of paying someone to do it maybe. Why bother, sometimes man is better than machine. Live with it.
  22. from what I understood its a valve with a very thin piece of plastic inside that only lets air one way, and purging the primer too many times over time causes it to fail and lets air both ways, they cant be replaced so need to swap the full carb. Im not 100 percent sure this is your problem but ours was only half filling the primer bubble then not filling the primer bubble at all. We tried a kit but nothing changed so opted for a new carb.
  23. one way check valve sounds kaput, new carb time.
  24. There is a guy on ebay selling a couple of 020av crankcases, hes helpful and may sell you one of the caps out of them. Are you sure the chain and bit that pushed into the cap isn't swimming around in the oil tank? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-STIHL-020-AV-CHAINSAW-ENGINE-BOTTOM-END-CRANKSHAFT/263690071012?hash=item3d65272be4:g:BewAAOSwpINZY-KY
  25. after its cooled and started again does it run all day or just for another 3 mins? Is it a HS45? Mine had an issue like this and it was the coil on its way out. As soon as it stops, pull the plug and see if its sparking.
