  1. Don’t you run a land rover Woody? Could you not put a tracked chipper on the land rover? 130?
  2. This is a Deodar I was called on to help clean up after the storms last week. Typically no depth to the roots, mass of healthy sinkers, but more importantly no large laterals on the opposite side to the fall. Also historic brick foundations/ rubble in the base of the resultant hole which meant that the plate just basically sat there with a ready made fault line. The reason for lack of laterals on the one side was due to the fact that another codominant tree stood there until about 5 years ago when it was removed? Also because of the competing tree the branch growth was loaded on the fall side. Water logged ground, poor root anchorage on one side, historic brickwork under plate, heavily weighted to one side, very high winds from the worst direction in this trees case and over it goes. If it had fell 90 deg to the right it would have taken out someone sat in their lounge? The tree that’s injured this chap looks to be weighted one way, possibly old structure affecting root development on one side, high wind🤔. There’s 1000’s of these trees about?
  3. Had a look at Dewalt and Milwaukee impact wrenches at the APF that were supposedly on offer? A quick Google and they weren’t🤔. Have got mainly Mikita so made sense to get the same, however came across a dewalt one on offer with two batteries in a local dealers that just happened to be cheaper than the makita body only? At least I can now find it quickly on the shelf when required.
  4. I think tree surgeons not dropping off stove ready, seasoned firewood for nought are out of order😫. But at least they’re keeping you busy I suppose?
  5. Of course the youngest of the proper defenders is now 8 years old, unless your talking the hairdresser one badged as a defender? My 60 plate one is definitely showing character and it’s me getting to look more shabby🤔. We could always get personnel plates to hide the vehicles true age but all that’s kicked off on another thread. The transit as a workhorse is a difficult one to get right if you don’t want to get confused with the travellers, but avoid the external sun visor, sign written to cover everything that can be carried out on someone’s property from drives to roofing with everything in between? When approaching the house remember to breath in and not ware brand new PPE and rigger boots😳
  6. A specific allergy test should determine if she’s allergic to the Scots pine or not. Don’t see there’s a requirement to go all the way to Australia to get away from the tree? 100 metres should do it? I had a broad spectrum allergy test 20 odd years ago after some nasal issues and it came back I was allergic to house dust( I told them to tell my wife cos I wasn’t going to 😳). I think everyone is probably allergic to something.
  7. I wouldn’t be able to give a running commentary like him as I’d still be trying to get my breath back after hauling my fat arse up there🤔. That Milwaukee top handle looks a reasonable saw? They’re £540 here with 2 x 8amp batteries. It might tempt me to get one? Anyone used one?
  8. Your not Bob Dylan or John Lennon are you by any chance?
  9. This, plain and simple
  10. For converting farm buildings to residential(known as Class Q) there is a requirement to carry out a noise and vibration survey. Not sure if it’s required for new builds?1
  11. Not just a woodworker? The chaps a creative artist by the look of it👍
  12. 10,000 little Korean guys in one spot with say 6000 up front, spaced a metre or two apart on say a 6 or 8 km front with 4,000 in reserve, backed up by a few hundred Russians pointing them in the right direction? And making sure they carry on in that direction🤔. Even before adding artillery, rockets and mortars would make quite a dent in the Ukrainian defence!
  13. Does anyone know any descendants of Guy Fawkes? I’ve got an idea 🤔
  14. 2nd hand tractor prices are creeping up and will probably continue to do so because the cost of new is prohibitive for a lot of farmers?
  15. Thanks for gracing us with your presence here tonight🤔
  16. Not so sure Stubby? There are still plenty of chaps who will be at remembrance parades next week who have a direct first hand experience of what they’re capable of? Backed up of course by Chinese on that occasion!
  17. Does that silly cow from the Nature Friendly Farming Network England 😳 not realise that if small acreage is sold of to pay death duties (that’s what it used to be called) the bigger farms will snap it up and just get bigger and bigger? They’re the ones who can afford the fancy financial adviser, accountants and lawyers!
  18. Not allowed to fell the “Mug Tree” in our house?
  19. He’ll be in the prison workshop now learning new skills preparing for his release in 12 months if he’s a good boy🤔. Some big ape will welcome him in and inform him that they play mummies and daddies? Which do you want to be Tommy? I’ll be daddy. Ok, come and sit on mummy’s knee!
  20. Flail, rake it up, burn. Spray new growth.
  21. Just Google “Tommy Walsh Ultimate Workshop” that’ll give you a few options. Scale it down to what you want, spec it as required?
  22. All the gear, no idea🤔
  23. Well done to those who’s property as appreciated in value over the years and who’ve built up some spare money in the bank and other investment and or money invested in work assets(that includes me? Up to a point?) I wish you all the best of luck keeping hold of it? by the time Labour have finished with us they’ll bleed us dry🤔.
  24. Why? He was just driving along the road going about his business when out pops the knuckle joint of the boom straight into its path? It could have opened up the side of the bus like a can and so just imagine it being full of kids? The clowns operating that mewp are lucky they’re not in jail for what could of been manslaughter incident!
