  1. No scientific papers to back it up as he says and you highlighted no real research has been done.. Don't get me wrong it is far better for you than everyday sugar cane sugars and I would use this over sugar if given the option. But personally i try and steer clear of using any kind of sugar... Sugar and salt are the work of the devil. I try to avoid both. When I say avoid all I mean is if I have a brew I don't put sugar in and I don't use salt when cooking or add salt afterwards. But if salts and sugars are in the food I'm eating I wouldn't not eat it.
  2. I like the effects of shou sugi ban look absolutely stunning if done right. Been used for thousands of years
  3. There is an interesting article about this stuff on the natural news website. I actually give lectures to Army Reserve recruits and one of them is on diet and nutrition, I try and have some knowledge of the subjects I instruct. (https://www.naturalnews.com/043857_xylitol_artificial_sweeteners_digestive_distress.html) This is a snipit of the full article Elison continues, "[x]ylitol will rip up your insides, namely the digestive tract. It's being touted as a natural product, most likely so that it can bypass regulation. Thus, very little studies exist on its side effects." As anyone who has been overly enthusiastic about ingesting xylitolin large quantities can attest, the sweetener certainly lives up to its reputation of causing stomach distress, flatulence and loose stools. This alone is enough for anyone who cares about well-being to cast a weary eye upon the sweetener. Moreover, it's interesting to note that polysaccharides are forbidden on a GAPS diet since the sugar encourages leaky gut syndrome. Digging a little deeper, another disturbing fact comes to light: Danisco (a worldwide supplier of xylitol) is owned by DuPont - the same corporation who concealed evidence that Teflon non-stick coating is a highly toxic carcinogen and substantially disrupts the reproductive system. Not exactly a company with a stellar track record for holding health in high regard. I do try to avoid sugars as best I can.
  4. Nasty story that I hate to hear of people Injured in work and thier employers washing thier hands of it. I had an accident at work a few years ago cutting covers off saplings that had out grown them. I slipped with my knife and buried it into my leg. First aider was seeing too me and my boss turned up and didn't ask if I was OK only asked 1. Why I was using my own knife rather than company snips. 2. was i wearing gloves with good grip? And then basically said I don't have grounds for a claim. Got back In his truck and went back to the office. I have never made a claim or even attempted too so I have no idea why he made these comments. So I looked I to making a claim [emoji23] [emoji23] mainly to wind him up. I got refused for the reasons he asked. 1 was I issued with the correct ppe 2. Was I issued with the correct tools.
  5. I'm not really knowledgeable of the sub species of pine I was just going off what I was told. We had planted 100,000 of them over a 50 year period on the site so I assumed this was the same. Thanks for the correction
  6. Short video of the felling of a fairly large Scots pine. I didn't video any of the climbing unfortunately (it was a nightmare!)
  7. Got a 261c with an 18 on at the moment. Only by accident because that is all they had in the shop. I usually run a 16 on it but it got warped.
  8. That's what they said to me... But I only ly had to wait 4 months
  9. I have 2 boys and a girl, Idon't need no more now! I'm skint and haven't slept a full night in 6 years [emoji15] [emoji23]
  10. The follow up appointment is possibly the most uncomfortable appointment I have ever attended. So u have to ejaculate 20 times before the appointment.. Then abstain for 3 days and fill a pot. This can be done at home so long as the sample is with them within an hour. My appointment fell 20 mins after my son finished school. So I had to take him with me. So I had filled a pot at home then picked him up thinking I was just dropping it off. The doctor only decided to inspect my sample in the waiting room by holding it up to the light for the whole room and my son to see. I don't feel embarrassed easily but my god I wanted the floor to swallow me up [emoji15] [emoji15]
  11. Thanks for the response. The op itself is fine worst part was the needles. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about it. The case that I have is supposed to be 1/1000 chance of getting it on one but I have it on both sides. Just my luck
  12. Touchy and personal question. Basically I had a vasectomy (the snip) 5 months ago had a few weeks off work and followed all doctors advice. Iv since been diagnosed with a side effect of this op called a granulomar. Basically it is a hard painful lump that takes 2-3 years for the body to reabsorb. Nothing can be done its just a matter of maning up and getting on with it. I was just wondering if anyone has had it done and had issues with thier harness post op? If anyone has had it done and doesn't mind answering. Was your harness uncomfortable post op? Since having it done I cannot get as comfortable in my harness. I am constantly trapping one somewhere[emoji23] Is this another thing I will have to man up and get over? [emoji15] [emoji15] [emoji15] [emoji15]
  13. As a cyclist I can agree with you. Only children should be aloud to cycle on walkways and road users should be more respectful of a cyclists space. I am a courteous cyclist and do my best to never hold up traffic. I'll often pull in on country lanes if a queue is building up behind me.
  14. Couldn't agree more. One long journey will soon put you off them [emoji23] Liverpool to munster Germany and back done it for me. If your 6ft plus you will bang elbows and knees on everything just by driving like a normal human. Don't wish to cause any offense but I hate them... Did I make that apparent?
  15. Sorry to hear that bud. Just goes to show they will stop at nothing to get what they want We should be more like USA and be able to carry a pistol on our hip.
  16. Absolutely. I have ranted about this before it drives me insane it seems that it's now the thing to be rude to people. My dad used to constantly say to me and my brother 'Manners cost nothing and courtesy is contagious' I have drilled manners into my children and it's often mentioned how polite they are. I hate it when.... When you hold your hand out for your change but instead it's banged down on the counter?? Really?
  17. OK, OK I completely and utterly retract my previous comments he clearly has no idea what he is talking about.... Mind blow. [emoji43]
  18. Nice I done 4 yrs regular but in the Royal Signals. And iv been a Reservist in the REME since. 10 years total so far. Got myself a pretty cushy posting at the moment. I'm on a phase one recruit training team as a PTI and I help cover the Range side of things too. Don't get my hands greasy no more [emoji23]
  19. Completely agree [emoji106]
  20. My astronomy knowledge only spans as far as my sailing days and even that was very limited. I appreciate your comments although I did think it was a bold claim, that's what caused me to be amazed by it. But I suppose if they employ an expert and put him on telly I generally believe him [emoji23] [emoji23] more fool me!
  21. Most significant comment made on that program for me what when he said... There are more trees on the planet than stars in the sky...
  22. It is below cost. I work for the. Mod it is only used for staff members, residents of the camp where I work and friends of staff. Getting it off them is like getting blood from a stone. It is not offered commercially to the public.
  23. I thought it was an absolutely fascinating programme my 2 boys loved it too they are 3 and 6 and already obsessed with trees and arboriculture in general. My eldest is getting a harness in the new year and wants to do a bit of climbing with me (nothing too high obviously) They participate in forrest school at their school and they absolutely love it. It is a brilliant idea to add to the curriculum just a shame that the school doesn't receive funding for it. I have given them what I can to help but the government should be doing this. Sorry I went of on a slight tangent then.
  24. I was on a job and the customer who was a family friend asked if there was any jobs a friend of his could do on the weekends to help him out with a few quid (he was paying him not me). So I dugout the areas for 2 patios and a path to join them and asked him to dump 9 ton of hardcore into areas not worrying about levels. He done this so I went on and layed the first patio. The path to join them I hadn't done to follow the contours of the lawn as I was relaying that in the future I had leveled it from one patio to the other. I would then use this as a guide for the new lawn. In the evening his friend come back to "take a look at my work" already this offended me but I bit my tongue. But he then went on to say I didn't have a clue what I was doing and that he could finish it quicker, cheaper and properly. I instantly took him up on his offer and packed up my tools and billed him for my time up until that point. I got a phone call a week later asking me to come back.... Moral of the story?? Cheaper and faster isn't always better. Pay peanuts get monkeys. [emoji87]
  25. This is a technique taught by the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, the Mechanics of the British Army. Place gasket paper in place and rub a spanner or hammer over it and gently tap the edges it will cut to shape perfectly. Far more accurate than trying to use scissors.
