    Saw a small flock of lapwings today in Northumberland should they not be busy rearing chicks in pairs now ? could they be fledged chicks already? david

    We have one for biggish caravan i got big pegs for it and weighted down the frame with bags of gravel it survived storm Arwen unscathed in a not very sheltered spot will try and dig out brand it’s 5 years old now and holding up well

    Hi am building an outdoor kitchen / summerhouse ( although it will be used in winter as well ) will be heated with a wood burner Want to avoid condensation from metal roof sheets What’s best and economical ? plain sheets then insulate anticondensation sheets then insulate double skin sheets with insulation sandwich I have seen old box profile on a shed with a thin layer of foam on inside but can’t find it on line is this no longer available ? any tips thanks David

    Not personal experience but here’s the tale man takes two dogs for a walk on golf course notices whippet in a struggle runs over its scrapping with an otter wish I saw that also one spotted eating a dead badger on the roadside it appears they are on a come back in Northumberland

    Log it up and split it as you go if possible willow can get quite stringy and awkward once’s it’s dry

    Cross cross stack them outside on pallets roof them with anything to hand nice to make giant shingles from the ash itself Even then unlikely but good for next winter

    Hi may have to replace mine some have 3kw rating and the rock ones say they cannot be run of an extension lead i have a rock petrol splitter and like it so fancy there electric model but need to use an extension So if I use a heavy extension still a no no ? ideas ??

    I think you will need hot water tank buffer tank and Lots of plumbing a fair old pay back time if saving moneys the aim we have log boiler and buffer tank coupled to oil boiler works well alot of time and space both for fuel and equipment mind that’s for a bigger place

    If you are going for more compost than mulch how long do you leave it? do you fiddle on turning it adding muck or anything ? or just leave it in a pile? i ve gone a bit compost mad and am thinking of using woodchip but am thinking I should ‘precompost’ it for a year before adding to general pile any tips thanks

    What will you be doing with chips? small branches plenty leaves ideal for composting ?

    One thing to consider is when during the day is someone home if no one home during day then heat store buffer tank defo required. Bigger the better

    We had exactly that problem had a new plastic tank buried adjacent to old brick one with spoil filling old tank then plastic pipe moled in On good terms with neighbours so no probs with access and new post and rail round tank

    I have three ibcs acting as giant plant pots / raised beds in my Polly tunnel seems to work ok if outside one could face them with pallet wood to make them easier on the eye

    It’s the size of my middle finger I think they are small cherry stones firm and dry and lieing out in open on our track
