    How best to eradicate or more likely reduce mares tail growing in a riverside field. My friends are trying to make more of a mixed meadow instead of a grass field with some success apart from the dreaded mates tail Any thoughts ? thanks david

    My McCormick reverse drive tractor has losts its drive fault traced to hydrostatic unit the parts are available with possible large bill to fix depending what is found once unit opened up. Between 3,000 and 5,000?£ Sell it for parts and buy another get it fixed my budget would be £7-8000 what to do for the best any inside information????? david

    Hi my little reverse drive tractor has lost its drive and it’s traced to hydrostatic drive unit the parts are available but bill for fixing could be 3000 to 5000 £ any ideas what I might get for it as a non runner ? where best to find a replacement or just give the go ahead to get it fixed I don’t have the time to or really knowledge to buy a better one in the sub £7 or £8 thousand bracket Whats the way forward ? thsnks david

    Hi I’ve a McCormick g30r reverse drive model its lost its drive the input to the hydrostatic unit is turning but tractor barely moves. In low ratio it just about creeps about Mechanic has drained hydro oil and found metal in it so things looking bad if dealer can’t supply a new unit any ideas where I might find one? Thanks david

    Obvs not. It’s for stoking our gasify boiler or filling up buckets for the house

    Ps. If you dry the branches first they will be harder on the machine and there will be more shattered up small bits. Not good ???

    I use the nets twice after two seasons they are disintegrated also put them in in barrow bags with two mesh sides. They seem to dry ok only fill to max two thirds full or they are too heavy to shift about i see yours are under cover. I leave mine out in wind and sun with some sort of cover over the top AgreeBranch loggers are a faff on but I like to make waste into something useful

    I was wondering the same thing might be a bit dry for the new hedge plants competing with existing hedge nice and weed free thou with the gravel but plants might prefer an organic mulch of compost or leaf mould

    Hi any opinions on how my leeks will survive prolonged frost going down to -9 I could lift ,saw them up and put infreezer or just leave them to it only got about a dozen left so not a big disappointment if they don’t make it Thanks. David

    For that amount of use wouldn’t hiring some one in be possible rather than £10,000 odd of machine sittingbabout waiting to be used once every 2/3 years
