  1. hi mr billhook i usually do the same pulling the small stuff out before it reaches the chooppers cant get the logger to the wood this time so need to clean it of for transport to road i put my minilogs in the central heating boiler and also for kindling can i ask what you do with yours ? david
  2. hi i have been offered some birch scrub to clear in return for the wood the biggest trunks will make small logs the thin ones and tops will go thru my branch logger any ideas what tool and technique would be quickest to trim off the twigs i was thinking a long handled hook or small chainsaw and trim the scrub before felling them if i buy a hook is the fiskars one twice as good as well as twice as expensive ??? may be more effort than its worth but will give it a go because its next door thanks for any ideas david

  4. hi i have a few barrow bags in a poly tunnel for next winter would you leave doors open on dry days / every day for the breeze leave doors shut for the max heat leave doors shut and open the window whats best ????? in todays sun it was really pretty hot in there for march anyway just curious i imagine they will be ok whatever given all whole summer in there thanks david
  5. hi having got to the clean stage what will you grease / oil it up with ? i pressure washed my cheapo copy after a muddy day and just dried it on the boiler and squirted wd 40 inside and on cable the wrong thing ??? thanks david

  8. hi I have bought some ventilated barrow bags to store / season the awkward logs that are tricky to stack what would be the best way to season the logs ? leave outside with the lid / flap tied over and sat up on a pallet leave outside as above but with a sheet of tin on the top stored in an open sided barn, if anyone recommends this how far apart should they be to let the air in ? I will have maybe 30/ 40 bags for home use only going into our central heating boiler thanks for any tips or opinions david
