  1. Which way you going to play it. Buy or sell? I’ve sent Mark a PM. Hopefully he sees it and we can have a chat.
  2. Everyone and their dog claims to have an uprated version of the Rimi when they're caught out flogging the same machines. I assume you have proof of the claimed upgrades to justify the massive mark-up? I can but the RM500 for less than you're selling this basic machine. Why you think Im located close to Rock I have no idea?
  3. Its a pain in the arse but not mine. Been bodged a few times to keep it going. Im £60 a day including fuel and he drops it off and collects it. Im not gonna grumble.
  4. £15k! That’s mad! Yeh, looks like I need to sit down to open the email when it arrives. 🤣 I guess I’ll need to start looking into bodging up a permanent rail set up as well. I’ll have to look on YouTube . Thanks for the offer. Yes, I can see me asking for some advice. Can’t sell on here now that you all know what I’ve paid for it. 🤣
  5. That’s beautiful! I think the logs have already started to spalt, that’s what they think anyway. But I see your point. I should have mentioned that there is next to no access. Im not sure I’d even get the Jeep down the side of the house. They said a small car can get down. So an Avant would also make it. I’ve not seen the site myself so it’s all based on the homeowners opinion.
  6. Maybe? Good point. If they get back to me I’ll ask.
  7. I’m just waiting on a quote. Will see what they say.
  8. Damn, more than I expected. I might bang it on eBay then. 🤣 If nothing else I’ve a good GX390 😁
  9. Everything is missing apart from what’s in the pics. So I don’t expect it to be cheap. Sorry, I meant fuelwood. I think I actually seen a post a while back looking for rails. Maybe the guy I bought it off. 😁
  10. Yeh, that’s there. It runs fine and what’s there all seems to work. I’ve contacted woodfuel for a price on a new set of rails. I expect they’ll be £2-3k
  11. Well, bought it for £200 today. 🤣 It’s the baby 6-13 so must be quite old but the Honda GX390 must be worth £200 anyway. So worth a punt.
  12. If I can’t mill on-site I just can’t see how I’d get it home. I’d need the Avant on a trailer and another vehicle with a trailer to take home. Hardly seems practical.
  13. My mill takes a 30” log. But I’m not turning a 30” Oak log 4m long 4 times to get it down to the 24” cant. So yes, I’ve been knocking the sides off freehand. Or a mix of free hand and lifting and turning with the Avant I get in. This was a chunky bit of oak I loaded just before it got dark.
  14. That’s just a Rimi Processor is it not? I could ship one in myself from Alibaba for half that price. If I was gonna go with a UK distributor for an identical Chinesium processor I’d get a Rock Machinery version.
  15. Funnily enough I've just been contacted about milling some Spalted Burr (maybe burr) Maple. They're not planning on going ahead with it due to the cost and no-where to store the Slabs. About 36" diameter but they cut the log in two so only a 2m and 1.7m length. Ive suggested I come mill it and leave them a slab. They're planning on cutting it up for firewood though. I wonder if its worth the day out milling?
  16. Some nice bits of Oak maxing out the B751 today.
  17. Been offered this Mill. Obviously missing the frame though. He’s looking for offers. Anyone any idea what a fair offer would be and if the frame is available?
  18. It’s always a toss up on what you spend your cash on. We burn about 40-50 cubes a year so need a steady supply and I’m certainly not hand splitting all that. Hiring it out to folk I know has recouped most of the outlay so it’s basically cost me nothing. Had I more spare cash I’d have bought a processor. Which is actually next on the agenda.
  19. Bought a Rock Machinery 22t road tow splitter. 4 way head optional. Not had a log I can’t split. I do 10 dumpy bags a day for my own use. Can’t see the point messing around with anything less. Cheap as chips too.
  20. They're 'ok' but certainly dont deserve the hype. As you say Horses for courses.
