Green? £150-200? Seasoned whatever you feel you can get but £300-£350 can’t be far wrong.

Stumps ground from £50 gets the owner on the phone. The quote will be £150 minimum by the time he pops past.

Theres been some progress on the Estate front. Finalising a firewood deal that sounds almost to good to be true. Also increased my workshop space up there. Should hold 100 bags easily.

Who knows, but Im not buying it came from the Taxpayers. If that was the case why sell it? Id say it was paid for by his rich buddies, its why he hung around them all. Mooching off of them. He was always involved in some sort of scams with them.

I think the lass got $7.5m as well? If the best lawyers in the world told him to settle out of court then they must have had little hope in winning. This speaks volumes and will forever hang over his head.

Sent the original doc from Hakki today. Paid the same price as you would for a new Chinesium rough equivalent. Ive attached the doc here in case anyone else is looking. Its the 2X S+ manual as its the same machine. Ohjekirja 25 Carry 4-2013 EN.pdf

Good info, thanks. I use the a Palax regularly so know what you mean about being in the splitting bay. might have to take the wheel off when in use? I'll see. Bit odd there is very little info or even a manual out here for them. Even the official Hakki website does not list a user manual in their obsolete machine section.

Just purchased this off of ebay. Seems to be in very good condition and lightly used considering its age (Im guessing circa 2013?) Very little info out there for it but seems to be a Road Tow and improved version of the 2x S+. I know its a bit of a baby in the processor world but I have access to endless 3m lengths of 10" max diameter hard and softwood so hopefully will prove to be efficient with its dual rams. Anyone here have any feedback on them? Perhaps its someone on here who sold it?

I’ve fancied an Esse since I seen them on River Cottage. Funnily enough it replaced an oil fired Rayburn that obviously did the cooking but also the hot water and central heating. It drank oil though. So bought the Esse and a 30kw outdoor Oil boiler. Put in a 280l dual indirect coil water tank and had my brother-in-law plum the lot in. So now the Esse does the heating in the kitchen area, 90% of the cooking and the hot water. The Oil Boiler does the heating first thing in the morning and tops the hot water off if needed, ie the 18 year old lass has spent the morning under the power shower🤣 The Esse looks the part in the old Farmhouse, costs me nothing to run and is great during the recent power cuts. We’ve a 10kw stove in the living room as well so we use very little oil these days.

Lie in til 10 this morning. Then out to the Estate to do a shift at Milling and a raid up. The missus does not work so I’ll take my day of rest when it suits me. -

Yes, I can see built it and plastered could cause issues. I seem to be fortunate in getting seasoned prices for green timber. I also wish to build a nice stock of seasoned oak. I think I’m slowly getting there though. Must have 10 ton milled and stickered now. There was already a Mantle protruding 1.5”So I got my Chain Morticer and chased out a 1.5” but left a good lip on the top and sides. I also used 4 mantle/shelf mounting rods which where secured to the Sandstone Mantle “lip”. Drilled 4 matching holes in the the Oak Mantle and between the missus, my 17 year old lass and myself somehow managed to get it located into position. A tube of Tek7 and then malleted it into place.

Just now I’m asking £100-£125 a cubic foot for nice oak. Just milled this today. 12”x6”x1.2m £200. Gotta round over the edges though, but if a faf but an easy £200. The log owes me £60 and I’ve 70% of it left. 😁

The Stihl one is Logrite as well. At least that’s orange as well. 😁

I’m using the Logrite. Think it’s a 48”? Buy the Woodlands one though, it’s still a Logrite just painted Green. 😁

Who's buying green of the mill mantles? Not 100% sure what you’re asking but if it’s who’s buying green oak for Mantles then I guess this guy. 🤣 I offered the dry Standing Dead at £450 or the Green at £300. After discussing how none of my Green Mantle’s in the house have moved an inch he went with the Green. This 8”x8” Mantle above my Esse Ironheart was A knotty green firewood log. It sees constant heat blasting it day and night. Not budged. I also milled a green Mantle 6”x4” for my daughters bedroom and it’s not moved either. This might be because I’m using the heartwood from much larger logs than the mantle is?

Had a rush order for a Mantle. So milled two the same size. One from a standing dead oak and one from a wee pippy oak. Nice couple of hours milling in the afternoon sun.

You could be kept in solitary confinement with nothing but Mulls drunken weekend retorts as a way to gauge the passing of the days and keep a very accurate passage of time.
