  1. not to derail thread sorry steve. but does the drop in the sterling vs euro affect anyone
  2. sounds similer to a tractor if used for slo tick over jobs, solution there would be to work the tractor hard, ploughing as this will clean the bores, try and do something similer with unimog.
  3. hi boy english. would you ever pick someone else's used condom. HELL NO. well how clean is the oil in other people tractors you use when with your splitter. There's no way to tell how much rubbish is in the fluid, its even worse with borrowing, lending hydraulic trailers, as large volumes of oil were used.if a trailer is full of dirty, rust particles and you have new uncontaminated oil after a service change and tip the trailer or create a flow, the oil mixes and you have wasted your time changing oil.
  4. thinning is about cutting, small trees, removing brush and clearing paths and brush in order to get a better crop at the end and at second thinning so piece work should be used.
  5. well bob mr aspen Bob. I am sorry, i meant no offence It is just every blue vehicle, truck seems to be yours. i thought this was another and it is genuinely interesting to see such a diverse range of equipment owned by one company. you even have your own fuel company aspen.

  7. old school time. massey 20 loader, david brown for winching 1969 MF20 Industrial w/ Loader - TractorShed.com
  8. when the oil is cold it is thicker or more viscous and when heated the oil is more vicious or thinner. but you don't say how old the oil is, as has been said already the oil may deteriorate due to age, the additives breakdown, and water or air may enter the system causing cavitation. the thin oil may be contaminated with rust or break rubbings from the back axle if the oil is shared. another cause could be a clogged filter as some filters are very fin down to a few microns
  9. they are great fun to play with, maybe keep young hands away to avoid accidents.
  10. Mr Hamdogg Why does every post have you say Life's all about moving forward, you learn what you can and crack on!!
  11. from an Irish viewpoint Be aware of any fishing nets under the water from large fishing vessels. Another thong to be aware of is territories some people claim to have these for generations and wouldn't be pleased to see a blow in try and take their lively hood away. some area have a lot of tension. in an area where i live their is an upper and lower part of the coast. the two sides hate each other, even though their boats are near each-other on most days. Anyway one of the lower areas boats got into trouble and the other boat waited until the other boat was sunk before calling the lifegaurd. Its petty but true so be very careful where you fish
  12. Serous Question do you want to heat the room or the rads. as burners can either heat the room they are in brilliantly without a boiler but with one struggle to heat either. Is the boiler close to the copper tank, if not the rads will take alot longer to heat up. reduce the flow of water entering the tank to give the water from the burner time to heat the water. Stanley and blacksmith are good makes aswell. I know you say you dont want to pay for the name but alot of cheaper stoves warp and twist and you end up having to replace them. Just as tuscan pumps are 40 quid cheaper than Grudfus but last longer. Last week I fitted a tuscan pump to a boiler and it ended up having to be replaced as it was faulty. In the hardware yard there was a pallet with ten of them going back. so yeas Quality does cost a bit but it lasts away longer.
  13. will you be going to the irish ploughing championship in offaly.
  14. beware of small yappy dogs, poms in particular. my dads best friends so family friend had one and he was a terror, if you tried to drive away he would start yapping and barking at you. if you weren't careful he would nip your foot as you were entering your car/van. as you were driving away he would run around your vehicle, barking. one day while my dad was leaving he ended up hitting the dog with his van. this same neighbor had an incident with a cat, which bit him as he was breaking up a fight between them, his arm swelled up and he had to have an operation. anyway he was made fun of because he got bit by a black pussy.

  20. hi do you have your own dumpsite or do you have to use a paid tip site. if the later is it possible to get a pallet and tie a rope around either side and use a loader or tie the ropes to something and drive away leaving the brush, logs, chips etc on the ground.
  21. hi hamdogg. what chainsaw are you using by the way for the big ringing/ cutting as I am looking for a larger saw but dont know what to get, i have a stihl ms 391, but i find it too small for a job where a 90 year old oak fell down
