    It will be interesting to see how in pans out. I haven't seen the tree or location in person (obviously) but my first course of action would always be to seek some form of management/ remedial action with the help of a local arb firm if needed, rather than resort to drastic action like this. If the action you have taken was warranted for the reasons you state then why not get a local arb firm to produce a report on that basis? You'd have moved forward better using that approach IMO...

    First one that popped up: Man who breached tree preservation order during 'driveway construction' is fined WWW.BOURNEMOUTHECHO.CO.UK A MAN who was responsible for damage being caused to a protected tree "during the construction of a new driveway"... Like I said - stand by...depends how much cash your local authority has to pursue it...

    If you don't want the cost of a new battery set up (ie charger and batteries x 2 or 3), then have a look at the small Echos. The top handle police might have something to say about their ground use of course. If you can afford a battery set up then the Husky battery saws are great - they will easily cope with what you want and even larger. Ditto re the top handle versions...

    If you were Dr Emmet Brown and able to harness the necessary 1.21 gigawatts, you could of course go back in time to the point where the tree had become 'dangerous' and have had it removed without any TPO concerns. Not sure if there's any case precedent on that though.

    Did you buy those at that width Mick or did you rip them down? I only seem to see full width ones over here but those thinner ones look more manageable.

    I run all my kit on Aspen - some new and never been run on anything else (T540 mk1, Dolmar 6100, Husky hedgers) and some old (a 372xp and a 268 - I've not even changed anything out on these) and everything runs just fine. In fact I 'lost' my tophandle in the mire that is my workshop for about a year - it started up no problems with the existing fuel in the tank. Everybody has their own experiences with various fuels but I can honestly say that Aspen works for me and I'd never run anything else (ie I might change brand if needed but would never go back to pump fuel).

    I was trying to work out the manufacturer from the markings in the last few frames of the video but couldn't make it out. I was guessing at Duncan Fearnley or Gray Nicholls but certainly not sure. Great films both.

You don't need to be HETAS registered to install a stove, you can do it yourself but need to get the installation signed off by building control if you do. That's for England and Wales. The regs in Scotland are (very) slightly different. Although this was the case when I had my stove put in a couple of years ago so things might have moved on.

    It should. The issue is perhaps more whether the hopper (I stick it on hopper first) will be high enough to clear the bucket rest. TW hopper sits over the bucket rest a bit - I would no way get the thing in a trailer with high or mesh sides at the front at least. I've probs got about 15 cm behind the chipper at the ramp end. That's just how it seems to balance the load best.

    If it's any help I have a GH94BT that even with some retro fitted internal tie down points will still take a TW230 VTR chipper at full width if I'm careful. Wee bit of room front and back for other kit. Track width is the same as my Defender (but as the trailer has narrower tyres it seems to straddle speed humps better. Tows very well - shitty roads up here and manages ok. I'm happy so far - 2017 model bought second hand with warranty from Stirling Trailers.

    Debris netting is what I have on my tipper (like you see on the sides of scaffolds to stop stuff falling out onto pavements) - just held on with zip ties. With a bit of care it can be made to look well-fitted but it needs to be pulled tight. Seems to last a year or so and is cheap enough. Strong enough to handle chip being blown in and stops it coming out. Plus you can see through it which gives a bit more perspective when reversing in and out of places. Granted it won't look as tidy as a proper arb body but it's cheap and effective. A had to buy a roll which I think might have cost be about 30 quid a few years ago.

    Could be that the new chain (assume was new too) stretched on first use, became slack then pinged off. Probably damaged a few drive links so that they don't sit properly in the guide bar anymore and the chain is riding higher at certain points - hence coming off again. Just a guess because you said it was new - but it could be other things.

    I used the headover I wear under my chainsaw helmet as a mask today (I'm a bald bastard and it helps the lid fit). It was one of the worst things I've ever smelled and a biohazard in its own right. Worth it for 2 bottles of scrumpy and a forage in the reduced section.

    Not used the Treehog so can't comment on that I'm afraid. I have a Stein bought new in around 2016 which is absolutely bombproof. Can't say I use it often (may a few times a month) but when I do it makes its money back easily, esp on one-man clear up jobs where you can stack it high and move 20-odd drags worth to the chipper in one (sweaty) go. I wouldn't be without it.
