  1. I'm wondering if I can clean my 201tcm up and sell for enough money to buy an echo again [emoji22]
  2. P.s I could rant all day about the poor quality of stihl over echo's old school muscle. FYI echo 620sx is an incredible saw
  3. My echo got run over haha R.I.P. and I was stupid enough to become a sheep and follow the crowd. After a week or so of getting used to the shape/handle/weight/economics of the echo it's so bloody nice in hand! Stihl users that play around with an echo for 5 minutes whinge about it being off balance or the colour doesn't match their nails or whatever but going from echo to 201 it's horrible, square, nowhere near as comfy in hand, even feels heavier (I don't know the stats on that or care tbh). I've had my 201 for a couple of months, ait filter cover has cracked and so has the exhaust casing (which annoyingly is the whole side casing to replace) . I'm far from careless with my tools so am blaming it on the stihl being feeble. Things that broke on the echo while I had it was all so cheap and easy to replace (chain catcher, exhaust casing)...
  4. Baffles me when people say the echo looks flimsy and cheap in comparison to my 201 that is made of tin foil and wet cardboard. Worse equipment decision I've made, going from a 360 to a 201tcm
  5. I've started using a guide again but more so I'm not digging outbthe gullet than then angle. I get my eye in on the score mark
  6. Do the rotatech chains have the scored mark on top of the tooth (mark to show last sharpen)? I'm going to buy a bunch but I hate with the oregon chain it doesn't have that mark unlike the stihl as I get my sharpening angle from that? Silly thing, but bother me haha
  7. Just the flip side so youngens don't get it in the neck too much. I had the same thing happen to me 5 years ago but the tractor actually drove up the front of my van. That was an experience! The driver was in his 70s. If I had gotten out and gave him a mouthful I expect I'd have been called a young thug who has no respect [emoji23]. At what age should you be deemed too old to drive because your reactions and eyesight are poor? Apparently he "didn't see me". I was in a Citroen dispatch van, if that was a low car I'd be dead, if I was riding a horse I'd be dead, if I had all my family out for a stroll we'd all be dead. It's not "young drivers" it's poor drivers and 9/10 when I've had near misses and people pull out on me or they're in the wrong lane or don't indicate it's a old person
  8. My sterling scion tends brilliantly but it's got more stretch than a bunjy cord [emoji23]. Harsh on the hands if you're a princess too [emoji102]. What ever you get, always use a pulley as your anchor point
  9. New England agama is the 13mm I liked(very nice in hand, held it's shape). Be careful researching too much [emoji23] tree surgeon's are the most opinionated people on the planet and what works for them is the only way things should be done [emoji23] P.s I'm right, don't listen to anyone else [emoji119]
  10. I've bought blue tongue as everyone was harping on about it with the zigzag... Bloody nice rope but doesn't self tend anywhere near as good as the 11.5s like tachyon or sterling scion etc , in turn those two ropes are very bouncy. So each to their own. On small climbs 13mm new england ropes are really nice on the hands and doesn't bother me with it not self tending . If you don't regularly do big stuff personally I'd advise the 13mm new england. If you're on biggens if go skinny for the self tending, I do like my blue tongue but for me it's just a middle ground rope with a high price...
  11. Spud what's the low down on porting this saw? I'm having a bit of a debate with a colleague whether it's pointless or not. (Does the tcm cancel it out or does it tune itself with better performance blah blah blah). Anyway, what's your thoughts and experience with it Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. You say about depreciation... running a vehicle as an arb truck and as your day to day vehicle will stick a lot of miles on the clock... Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Manual [emoji102] I'm a man. I throw that to one side . Then moan about things not working properly. Thanks spud. I'll have a read now on lunch Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Bought myself a 201tcm last week after the customer decided to drive over my echo. Current feeling = why didn't I buy another echo [emoji24]. The stihl keeps cutting out and without manually being able to tweak the tune what do I do? Anyone know if this will improve after a good few more tanks of fuel or should I take it back asap? 15. I was going to send you this soon spud.. No need now 🤣 Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

  21. Let us know what the chap thinks of the mod Spud. I'll be keen to send mine up if it works out Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Stihl full chisel is so much smoother in the cut than that deadly oregon semi chisel . That thing is lethal Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Get the largest silky zubat saw... lighter than a chainsaw and pretty impressive what you can cut through with a sparkling new blade and hella cheap in comparison to a 150 or 2511 Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
