  1. Makes me think of this bit of uphill felling that GB posted on the house the other day. Don’t fancy this one running down the hill at you!
  2. I think it’s telling that the most vociferous anti Israeli accounts on Twitter have shut up about this and moved on. Having an open mind is great. But the truth is the truth. Finding that out is what we should aspire to, not just muttering about media bias and AI.
  3. Dunno, it’s one social media post versus what seems to be overwhelming evidence of its true origins.
  4. I have tried to keep an open mind about this particular incident as it’s important. I have looked at what evidence is available, and sifted through sources trying to judge their reliability. It seems clear to me, mostly by watching the BBC’s reporting it that it (the rocket) originated from Gaza.
  5. Driving in the half light this morning this stood out like a beacon on an oak stump by the roadside. Grabbed a pic on the way back in better light. Chicken of the woods?
  6. Yes, seen that out here on a clear night. Amazing.
  7. Sure, that’s what you tell the wife you use it for anyway.
  8. On my transits I’ve always had four wheels on the rear axle. Seems to me as I’m usually overloaded it has to be a better option than two. Yet my nephew is buying a 3.5 tonner and is considering a 2 wheeler. Is he wrong, does it really make much difference? Who is running a two wheeler and do you have any issues?
  9. Busy here, just been pricing all afternoon been putting in some pretty ambitious pricing which hasn’t put them off. New employee slotted in seamlessly to replace the departed. Might go back to the Ford dealer and see if they still have that new van I cancelled when I had a wobble. Go figure!
  10. Most mornings I feel like one erstwhile member here who said they are metaphorically talking themselves down from the ledge on the way to work every day. But this morning while walking the dog before breakfast my head torch picked out three wild boar in a little field, they watched me for a while before one let out a powerful snort and they disappeared back into the wood. Magic. Should be an easy lunchtime finish today, dry weather mid twenties. New employee fitting in seamlessly. Good days, take them when they’re offered.
  11. Easier if you tell us what he wants and we can tell him the terms.
  12. First of all by subcontractor I’m guessing you mean freelance so you can cut him loose at any point, no debate or reasons needed (and vice versa) Second and most importantly, is he any good?
  13. I think it’s just that he recently learnt it (on here) and enjoys (over)using it.
  14. Who can be arsed with that? (Not me in case you were wondering)
  15. Saying now a 60 year old man has been arrested. Disgruntled farmer or something.
  16. Conspiracy theorists on Twitter loving it. One guy reckons they’re going to build houses or a railway or something. Presumably they’ll bulldoze Hadrians wall as well.
  17. Always a fine line to tread between being firm with clients and outright rude.
  18. The mix’n’match clients. You turn up, they show you a handful of trees with assorted work to be done, then they start saying ‘what if we have that and that done, but not that, how much will that be?’ This goes on and on with various combinations of trees and prices looking for the magic combination. You end up tying yourself in knots, head spinning, driving away just knowing you’ve done yourself out of money.
  19. He’s wiv the angles now..
  20. Well, it’s done now. I’ve got over it. Next outrage please.
