  1. Well firstly the OP is female. Because hanging around (or as you suggest sitting on a car bonnet) in full gear waiting to be approached is a bit weird. If someone did that on my job I’d assume they were mental frankly.
  2. You’re serious? I don’t know where to begin.
  3. Just checking, you are joking aren’t you?
  4. Looking at social media it seems that firms are crying out for any staff from hotshot climbers to the lowest of the drag slags. When you say “asking around” what does that involve? Go on Arbtalk Facebook and ask on there (giving your location) I’d be amazed if no one takes you up on your offer.
  5. Reads like a story board for a particularly mucky porno film.
  6. I could only afford the silage grab and bucket after buying the machine itself. I was able to afford other grabs, splitter, flail, etc. over the years.
  7. ‘Puter might need to reset, same on my Schliesing when I replaced the throttle cable. But I’m guessing now, you need an expert.
  8. All that effort building a superb machine and an absolute joke of a vid. You should have got a 12 year old to film and edit that. Could not have done a worse job.
  9. I remember when being a climber used to be one of the options when you were too stupid or wild to learn a proper trade like building, car mechanics or engineering. Now it’s becoming a lifestyle choice. Nothing wrong with that of course, good luck to the OP whatever his decision.
  10. Lots of this… (courtesy of Dave)
  11. S’funny you say that. I had planned on some fancy rigging to save on clear up. But once up there and having got a feel for the tree I decided rigging off that was idiotic to save a bit of raking so we bombed out 95%
  12. Stone dead horse chestnut threatening some property. Real breadstick stuff. left as a monolith cos it was a lot cheaper.
  13. Might as well just chuck the leaves on the ground.
  14. Some pops I marmalised by a half a year ago and today. Now I know when I first posted the ‘after’ shot (the totem poles shot) some eyebrows were raised. But here we are, a year later, client has his screen back, they won’t fall on the power lines or the road, everyone is happy. Worse case scenario they rot out in a few years and have to be taken out. So what? They’re pops, they would start falling over or breaking to to bits in that time frame anyway.
  15. They’d cover them in sausage skin to create testicles, then change gender.
  16. I’ll let you know, chase me up if you don’t hear from me!
