  1. Yes, I suppose so. Like I said, we’ll see what the quote comes out at. I was thinking around 4K. There or thereabouts is ok. I might have to rethink if Marks ballpark figure is correct.
  2. We’ll see, I haven’t had the quote yet.
  3. Was at a professional body fabricators today. If I can afford it I’ll get a proper aluminium box done. Can’t nail a homemade plywood monstrosity on this baby!
  4. Oh yeah, I’m all about capacity.
  5. Mwb ? 3.2 mètres by 2 meter bed.
  6. I ordered this a good while back, but cos of staff problems and a downturn in work I had a wobble and cancelled it. Things change so I spoke to the salesman who said they still had it so I signed on the dotted line.
  7. Cherries are pavement lifters. If it’s only 6ft tall don’t worry about it, it’ll be decades before it becomes an issue.
  8. Big issue is if the steel is tempered or not. Otherwise you’ll bend mild steel like cheese.
  9. Thanks David, I am weighing up whether to eschew a reduction and offer only a removal bearing in mind it’s location. i’ll research its characteristics after I confirmed what it is. ill go back tomorrow.
  10. I have an oak to quote for reduction for a local council. I noticed these brackets. Look like gannoderma, but what do I know? strange bluish hue to them. any ideas?
  11. Mornin’ all! Pissing down here, been getting soaked all week (except for Tuesday) At least I’m not out in it today! Little or nothing to do today, so that’s what I’ll be doing !
  12. I actually agree with Svistolodovoslov. Strange post. Buy huskys except for the topper.
  13. For me the OP is filtering the information in too restrictive a fashion. Too little info to comment. (in Sideshow Bob fashion, I am aware of the irony)
  14. I figure we’d passed from an individual case scenario to a general overview of tree work/ neighbour dispute hypotheticals. But fair enough.
  15. I learnt years ago to keep an open mind. It could be that your client is the asshole. You only hear their side of the story. Stay professional, stay neutral.
  16. How do you think the roboflail is working out @Stephen Blair? Does it have a future as a commercial string to your bow? Could you see it becoming a mainstay of your business?
  17. Agreed, they hate their neighbours, not you. Often a simple friendly request will be enough.
  18. Had the luxury of a proficient climber on the job today. Meant I could stay on the deck, run the ropes, drive the loader and help the groundy. Crazy leaning poplar over old bridge, road, power lines. to remove. Got bigger all day if you know what I mean.
  19. I had one, which I almost never used so sold it to another member on here. @ Unlike a saw you can’t drop start it, so if you don’t follow the procedure outlined in the manual and it doesn’t fire up straight away, you can have a frustrating morning.
  20. It’s been heavily reduced at least once anyway. Important with birch to go back to decent growth points, which he’s done. I would say it’s a decent job Dunno what the bit in the middle is, maybe he hadn’t finished.
  21. I’ll echo the comment about the starting procedure on the Eder.
  22. They never made up though Mark. Which was always a source of sadness for me.
  23. Not today, but forgot the lowering device on a job taking down oaks. No need to go back to the yard though!
