  1. Another thread Kveld:001_smile:
  2. I love a good chip run, as a boss there's nothing I like more than saying "right I'm off to empty this, while I'm gone rake/ring up/stack" I pass a happy time listening to the radio, and when I come back the work I hate is done (hopefully!)
  3. The day I sold my 130 Land Rover tipper for cold hard cash.....happiest day of my life.
  4. I remember an American posted a picture of a tree and we were still arguing about it two years later!
  5. The inspection/report is what we're doing here. All of these "what should I do?" threads are all just theoretical exercises. Same as the "what should I charge?" threads. I've never seen the point of just saying "get an inspection" he gives us a picture, a scenario and the clients feelings. We then pass judgement and argue/discuss it. I'll take your point that I followed the car analogy, it just gets used so often whenever there's perceived danger with trees, guns, terrorist bombs, airplane crashes etc. The cry goes up "cars are more dangerous, you're not going to ban them are you?" Lazy thinking IMO.
  6. I'll agree with that. Many years ago my old boss and me were working in Dulwich for the council. We were loading some wood onto the transit and a guy came up and said "leave those logs there, I'll pick them up later" My boss said "just load them on the van" He explained that in all probability the guy wouldn't return, then the council would phone him up and wind into him about leaving wood onsite......
  7. I think people like you are "devaluing the industry" Just as much as the hordes of newly qualified college leavers who lower the price, old uns like you who've paid off your mortgage should have left the business instead of hanging around and "bed blocking" You're ruining it for somebody or other. (I'm not sure who) (This is a joke btw)
  8. I've been doing it for 20+ years. I suspect most tradesmen are the same, roofers, bricklayers, proctologists etc looking at others work, wondering how they'd do a certain job.
  9. Like a few have said, just don't worry about it.

Oh ffs, Albania, Russia, Turkey aren't in the EU. Try and keep up.
  11. Maybe get rock exotica or one of the big boys involved, take the liability out.
  12. Sure, I'm nuts for new stuff, some vids/testimonials always helps though.

    Euro 2016

Back in 2002 I went on holiday with my wife to Thailand, it was close enough to Japan/South Korea to watch the matches at a sensible time (plus it was Thailand!) We were on Koh Samui and everyone congregated at Tropical Murphys to watch the matches. One night we were there for the Germany/Ireland match, it was brilliant, full of Irish enjoying and supporting their team and when they equalised it exploded in joy, great experience. A couple of nights later it was England/Argentina, totally different, poisonous, aggressive nasty atmosphere we hated it. I'm a big England fan for my sins, but many of the fans...utter lowlife.

https://www.rt.com/sport/346225-england-fan-violence-marseille/ Compare the reporting here from a Russian news service to what we've been seeing on the telly and watching unfold on Twitter. Almost makes out the Russians to be blameless and no mention of the charge in the stadium. The comments at the bottom make amusing reading as well!
  15. Ok right, thanks, must be a female. (Me covering my embarrassment!)
  16. Looks good. Congrats all round. Pardon me asking, but what bird is this?
  17. Anyway, it's never coming back, quote for removal.
  18. Don't know what it is but they die quickly a lot as young/semi mature trees. I see a lot of it here. When they get really old they seem to be impervious. I quoted the removal of one today, massive tree, 2 Mtrs diameter, enclosed garden, outbuildings underneath, 150 years minimum. Said to the guy "around the 4.5k mark" He said "I was hoping it was going to be less" I thought "I bet you were" We'll see. I doubt that ones over 55 years old.
  19. No, I've always run my huskys and stihls on either, never had an issue. Just my experience mind.
  20. Picked this up on the Treehouse. This guy articulates a lot of what I think is wrong these days, what do you guys think about it? [ame] [/ame]
  21. Is there something wrong with using your hard earned money to pay for those things?
  22. What were you try not to damage there? Looks like an easy fell, or at the worst take a couple of fence rails out.
  23. No one I know of has a chip truck on this forum.
