I was talking to an Echo dealer today, he hadn't heard about it yet. Saw looks nice though, sounds like it's a handy tool as well.

Not certain that there should be too much bigging up of Echo for producing an unsafe saw. There are many most cost implications in something dangerous (huge personal injury claims) rather than something that's just rubbish like the early 201s Just saying like.

Dug a hole for the veranda extension, hired a 2.5 because my 1.5 tonner is a non starter. Makes a big difference.

And of course you are entitled to them. I've had my 150 for 13 years, still chips like the first day I got it, if you regularly check stuff, and fix things when they break they'll last. Mine is still worth 3.5k, they still fetch good money, so they can't be disposable. I hope my Forst lasts as long ('cos I'll be 65 and nearly retired!)

Aesculapian snake (I think) taken on an evening walk with my dog, sat there for ages till it finally slithered away, non venomous but I held the dog back anyway.

At the moment everything. New ranger: engine management light on, has to go to dealer. Transit: electric window broken.(stuck open) Digger: new battery given up the ghost after 5months. Hot water boiler: pissing water out. Kubota tractor: leak from front axel, is in for repair. Wife's bicycle, deraillieur won't work (that's not too pressing tbh) Old transit: to be used as a dumper on new patio, battery flat, cannot open bonnet. The list goes on......

Why would anyone believe that anyone would cut down their trees for free? Did C3 agree a price with C1? Did C1 explain to C3 that HE (C1) decided to do it for free? If so what was his explanation for not paying C3? I think Huck put it better than me. "I don't believe the story as told"

I think that on small(er) claims like the ones John P and I described it's a non issue, they write the cheque. Personal injury/death stuff is prolly where they'll try to find a way to weasel out of stuff. Let's hope none of us test the theory.

What a load of utter bollocks. There is so much missing from this story, how did the client cancel the first tree guy? Email, phone message or letter? You claim C1 is happy that no one got paid for the job? Don't believe a word of it.

Agreed, just to clarify when I said hornbeam is similar I meant in appearance, you're right it's much less fussy about conditions. Where I come from in the Sussex Weald it has no problem with some poor clay soil.

Beech is nice, more prestigious, more maintenance than laurel needed. Not as good a screen. Bit picky about soil I think, hornbean is very similar.

I don't know what it is but don't indulge the clients too much. I've never seen a eucalyptus make a comeback from this sort of thing. (In The UK or here anyway)

Neither have I and yet you get the funny little grease gun that I've never managed to make work.

Unlikely, forms all wrong, it's a gleditsia, the one near me has thorns on the bark which is the only box not ticked, but I think older trees lose that lower down. I'm off to walk the dog in a minute, I'll grab an iPhone pic of it.
