  1. Agreed @Haironyourchest my Dad born in 1927, went from a house with no water or electricity, an almost medieval start to a life, to a reliable affordable car, top healthcare, a warm comfortable house, plentiful supplies of good food and drink, and constant care in his dotage to his death in 2014. He was a tractor driver, not a hedge fund manager or a professional in the career sense. No generation in the history of mankind has ever had such a rise in living standards.
  2. You did not have to stop working, there was no temptation, you either qualified for it or you didn’t. You just had to show what you turned over in March 2020 was 30% less than March 2019, then they gave you the money. You could not opt for it at the beginning of March as it wasn’t in place then, it only became available at the end of March. Of course if you had a rubbish March 2019 and a decent March 2020 you didn’t qualify.
  3. I was wondering that. A really nice foot rub with essential oils perhaps?
  4. Not that I know anything about tractors, but I love the bit about the guy constantly trying to buy his tractor back.
  5. That was a payout to small businesses (not just brits) to help them keep their heads above water if your turnover was 30% down in March and April, not furlough money for Salaried staff. Sound a bit salty Stu, didn’t get yours?
  6. Some guy on the news got it right. Its a difficult drug for many to withdraw from.
  7. I use the Stihl and Husqvarna franchise locally, and have become reasonably friendly with both of the owners. Neither of them could be described as flashy or loaded, and they both work all hours, with family members on the payroll. I am aware as anyone that some things are hard to take price wise, but if they were in it for the yachts moored on the Italian riviera, they keep them well hidden.
  8. *Labourer. I think you’re a petrol pump attendant.
  9. I’m guessing he consults on agricultural matters, my brother does/has done similar stuff. It’s a thing.
  10. Some stumps coming out from the top of a dam, before it gets tidied up. For my BiL so not getting paid!
  11. I hope that, like him, when I die, people will say “I had no idea he was still alive”
  12. I think our spuds are a bit ahead of yours @gary112
  13. I know, last night I tweeted that if you weren’t having a wank over Vera Lynn right now you’re worse than the Nazis. Luckily I only have 32 followers and I think they’re mostly Russian spam bots.
  14. Apologies for the sheep fondlers thing, I’d be pissed off if the boot was on the other foot. It’s one of those mornings where you look at your all social media from the night before and survey the damage.
  15. I have, but I’m not going to get into a “who’s the most Celtic?” pissing contest with sheep fondlers:)
  16. Nice, but written in March this year.
  17. Go on Brian, one won’t hurt, what’s the worst that could happen?
  18. If the Welsh really wanted to piss off the English they should teach them modern languages with the same fervour that they teach Welsh. Imagine a bright young generation holidaying, doing business and influencing the world at large whilst their English peers stood by, dumb as posts. But if they want the next generation to continue to live in an open air museum or a ‘reservation’ they’re going the right way about it.
  19. Oh no, don’t hit me with those negative vibes man! There is next to no technical expertise required on this job, it’s just logistics. Any firm could rattle that out by midday whilst hungover.
